I think that's because the XC team is their only "in-house" true factory team where the teams from the newsletter are external "factory supported" teams.

Spec Gravity is the WC dh team. There is a north american spec team that has Cody, Porsche, Sedlak, Keller, etc.
IIRC Cody hasn't been on a "official" Spesh team since he joined them, he's had his own program with preferred components and national schedule. His IG bio still mentions Specialized
