Hello Vital MTB Visitor,
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MTB industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,
The Vital MTB Crew
Interesting IF true, good she values her brand/service/needs as a racer, but it's a gross overestimation of that value.
Sorry ? A lack of results ? Dudes a top 20 rider if not top 10. I can name 30 riders who don’t deserve a ride over cole
The bike industry is in the shitter, for sure. I’m still surprised any company can sponsor an enduro racer at this point. The coverage is almost literally nonexistent. No return on investment. Most companies are blowing out their bikes at crazy prices. I don’t see where sending a racer(s) around the world to race their bikes can be financially possible. They can’t sell enduro bikes based on results and race coverage if the coverage is refreshing a website to see who’s winning then getting a highlight video after the race. Couple that with the state of the industry. Can’t be easy for companies to find extra money in the budget for enduro racing.
And speaking of the bike industry:

Some of the brands under the Accell Group include: Ghost, Haibike and Lapierre
I totally agree with you. The question should be how the industry ended up where it is rn. The prices were on a level where they have never been before during covid pandemic. They tried to milk the cow as long as possible, but they went more than a little bit overbord while doing so. No they are sitting on bikes that they cannot sell because they already flooded the market and it's fed now. In addition to that there is also the poor race coverage that might have negatively affected the market as well.
From my point of view the financial problems are self-made (to some *not-so-small* extent).
A bit of a reach… but we have completely overseen MS taking on GT as their frame sponsor. MS have just posted “Great things on the horizon”
MS to run GT frames maybe?? Unlikely cause of the brook saga with the fury but never know !
Brook subió un reel con bicicleta de enduro, rock shox zeb, no se qué bicicleta es. Parece Trek?
Interesting that she believes that she can influence the sales of consumers to the tune of at a rough guess 200 people to choose a yeti over any of the other brands, just to pay her bill (not all yetis are £10k) and anything beyond that is revenue.
Unless she’s got wind of what Richie is on and wants equals
Not sure, but if she wanted her and Chloe on a team, was the money for Bex trying to set up her own team, not to renew her Yeti contract?
In that case the £250k would be to fund the team’s travel, accommodation, entry fees, and then wages (for her and Chloe) after that?
I remember Neko saying a full season of WCDH was going to cost around that amount?
Interesting that this is only being announced now. He seems to have been running this stuff since June/July
From what I was told it was just wages
This is all true. I know some folk she asked for this amount.
I just converted that amount into Aussie Dollarydoo's.
WTF! That is absurd.
Literally my face....
Not going to deny any rider out there chasing down what they think their worth, but that figures (if it’s true) are pretty wild.
someone like Martin Whitley could probably workout what all the riders are worth financially in terms of results/brand endorsement.
This sport lacks clarity when it comes to money and contracts.
250k is fantasy league money.. and even if it’s split between the two of them it’s still crazy money.
was that 250k a proposed budget for they to set up their own team?
Pretty sure that's a rental ebike. I wouldn't read too much into it.
High five for “Joins ways” on that article title. That made me laugh.
Yep, a rental bike in Rotorua's Redwoods Forest.
Really interested to see how juinor mens world cup dh plays out next year, originally would have just been thinking it to be primarily dominated by asa but with Tyler waite from nz riding the yeti dh bike and presumably getting support from yeti at world cups next year, we might have another goldstone vs williams situation
It's probably not even a two horse race amongst the first year juniors next season. There are a few euros coming up through the ranks, notably the Alran brothers, one of whom will be riding for Commencal Muc-Off.
The new upcoming juniors should be fast, but dont forget about Chris Hauser and some other second years who are not going to just roll over for the new talent,
250.000K for funding a full season seems pretty reasonable to me. From food, to flight tickets, hotels, stuff and UCI team registering. To be honest, I think that is quite reasonable. And if it is for 2 people it might not be enough. If you calculaze out the taxes at an average of 18% you can only spend 210000. And you have to pay for health insurance, salary and taxes on income. And you should not forget that a professional needs to make more money as a normal working person because there is no regular carreer pat and you normaly need to start a regular job after the cycling at the age of around 35 when you have had a seriously long career.
But it would be interesting to know 1. if the amount is true 2. what it is for 3. what the salary really is in the NET version.
Morgane Jonnier off Rossignol
From the (MS-)man hinself:
"... it's just a split with mondraker that's official, but probably we're not done racing yet...would be possible without us, but not as much fun"
Dean Lucas on MUTN also saying Charlie Harrison to Frameworks (altho he prefaces by saying he has no inside info...)
Dunno why, completely unconfirmed, but I have a feeling/hope that MS will be on Zerode in 2024.
Kiwi bike, high pivot gearbox.
This comes from Sven who showed it on his instagram story weeks ago saying team rumours
Imagine that ! I’d actually cry and dodzy would be so proud!
Pretty sure the head of ms racing was seen with a zerode at msa world cup
Sorry, it certainly wasn't my intention to ignore the second year juniors, that would have been plain rude. Still, I understand why US race fans are getting excited about Asa, it's going to be interesting that's for sure.
Mylann Falquet and Lucas Lagneau alongside Hauser should still be figuring amongst the top finishers. They're only going to get faster and I'm sure sure that we'll be seeing a few vastly improve after having a first season of international racing under their belts. That first year can't be replicated as a learning experience.
Sounds like Unno is done
