Look sick!
Agreed. Also, the foam block things they now use aren't there yet, so some of the places that look a bit straight line might be chicaned somewhat.
Had the opportunity to ride 1199, got some exclusive access because of a friend. I have never ridden hardline but I’m 100% certain 1199 is not even in the same league of gnar. We hit all the features. Found the second ladder drop to be harsh, and had to pull to get the triple after the first ladder drop. IMO the trail feels like a solid double black with a couple solid sends. Really really fun trail though. I hope they open it to the public. Whistler needs this trail
Nice trail but it seems opposite of what ESO are looking for, it's long, has dense trees, and a bunch of flatish traverses. It would be a nightmare to film a complete top-to-bottom run.
That's just a silly clickbait question. It looks fun, but nowhere anywhere near Hardline. CLICK
And Loic just posted his view of the Loudenville track.
There's a spot about halfway down where everyone is taking a wide right outside line around a very steep bit where straight down the face would be way faster. Perhaps that's where an earlier poster mentioned a two story drop?
Loudenville track looks a bit more interesting in loics video now that it’s getting ridden in. If the tape/netting stuff thats used at the world cups is in the same places as the poles are for this i think there might be a few complaints for it to be changed. Thinking more how that a few riders have said the new netting isn’t actually that safe
Fly on the wall here.
At Nationals, I happened to turn a corner, walk right into
A - "...we can send you some tires to test if you're interested"
B - "Sure"
Both parties looked up at me.
Felt like the kid walking into the middle school bathroom at the wrong time.
"I heard nothing."
Kept walking.
You're a tease, @bizutch .
i've never been to hardline nor have seen the 1199 (yet). watching the 1199 vid, i whole-heartedly think it's generally overall as gnarly as hardline. sure hardline has the road gap and 90-ft jumps which are sensational features, but they get hit by everyone and don't seem to have much impact on the race. the 1199 looks so freaking steep and rough for A LONG time in sections. IMO that's gnarlier than fest-size jumps in the middle of the track.
again, internetter opinion which means absolutely nothing, but i didn't think it was a silly question.
edit - is bernard at crankworx? he'll be the decider if so LOL
I don't know....Jono Jones died on the 90 footers. He just had an archangel descend from heaven and put him back on earth.
Yeah. But it's one of those things where you walk up...you're like:

"Well...I could narc. But then...everyone would hate me. But boy...I just wanna blurt it out!"
Feel like Michael Scott when he found out about Stanley's girlfriend.
But hey....I'm sure it was nothing.
i'm definitely not trying to say those jumps are insignificant in any way, shape or form. i just imagine most of the "tech" at hardline being on par w/ whistler double black.
did I count three step-downs in a row toward the bottom?
Nothing on the 1199 track looks remotely as bad as the rock garden before the hardline road gap. Or as high consequence as the on/off and 90 footers.
hell a lot of dudes don’t even make it to the first drop in the first woods come race day. Plus that welsh weather!
still the 1199 track is really good. Maybe that race before/after snowshoe is there but it seems like a haul to get there in one week.
Anybody know how to watch World Championships live early next month? All I can see is flobikes.com
Watched practice for a few this afternoon.
Watched lew buchanans latest video of trackwalk on 1199, he mentioned that theres most likely going to be a world cup there in 2024, just thought id add that to go alongside remy metailers statement about it. Presuming if it happens its just the uci/eso trying to make the most out of riders having to make the trip to the states/canada
i take it all back. if warner made it down, it's way too easy
Track looks sick! Doesn't look incredibly hard to ride but racing it?! The fitness required to ride that top to bottom at race pace, insane. Looks punishing and it's going to get so torn up.
Please reference an above comment about "Wanna keep my job."

blenki just posted a pov of a run down 1199, track looks sick, world cup on that would be sooo cool
Hmm, I don't know, Rob didn't hit the big jumps on the 1199, but it appeared he rode most of the track on a Giant Reign with a single crown fork. Based on comments he's made I don't think he'd be up for riding any of the tech on the Hardline track on any bike, but definitely not on a single crown fork.
That track is great though, looking forward to seeing it raced.
Agreed, Rob is clearly a very experienced rider (as we all know) but I definitely don't see him riding Hardline, even on a proper DH bike.
Admittedly, I haven't ridden either course but having seen several of the Hardline track sections in person, I don't think the two compare that easily. 1199 looks gnarly as, but doesn't look to have quite the same 'sustained-gnar-to-insanely-massive-commiting-feature factor' that Hardline does.
Wow, the 1199 course preview with finn and rob on red bull bike, really cool video, track looks insane, finn will be absolutely hooking come race day
dante silva with a pinned ONE LAP on 1199 below and i asked rob warner if hardline and 1199 were comparable in the gnar factor. he was nice enough to write back saying, "hardline is totally different really, and the natural bits are way harder than 1199, but 1199 may be the best DH track i've ever seen. it's got everything." FWIW, dante apparently said 1199 "is terrifying". i'll go back to my internet hole : )
Let's get you on both Spomer for a Vital trail review & comparison... and you only get a single crown
it would be the last partial ride (as in about 138 feet of trail) i ever did. #ripgordo
So you're saying there's a chance.
