Hello Vital MTB Visitor,
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MTB industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,

On the subject of colour, I’m getting the sense some of this gear (XO, Code Ultimates) is going to come in two colourways, all black and black/silver. I’ve seen the XO crank both ways for sure. I’m stoked for the silver because that’s my “theme” for the next build.
Jack is on standard Code calipers, but on the new levers.
Yesterday I saw some pro's and an engineer in San Remo working on the new Nukeproof Megawatt carbon. They were changing shock tunes and some suspension things in general (RS of course).
Also had the new drivetrain and the new codes. I am not quite sure if the calipers also have changed. They were in fact silver but looked more or less like the current one (I might be wrong). No pictures of course (because of the frame).
Did you notice the motor they were using? They were the first to be seen with the SRAM motor, would be interesting to see if this has developed further.
I tried to look but they didn't let me and I stopped trying. But I think it was no Shimano/Bosch. He changed batteries from 700wh to 500wh, that's what I saw/overheard.
Not the most amazing picture but i managed to snap this of the zerode before it got ridden away, uses a pinion gearbox and has a frame design reminiscent of the new transition tr11s but with the higher rear end of high pivots. very high pivot and its belt-driven
Its also very definitely carbon and looks to be a production model, the rider had the logos etc covered up
Take a SD coil and bolt an air can on it.
I don't believe those EX1700s are available in anything but 28H
From youknowwho YT
new speci epic from IG with the new sram xx group including powermeter… my guess is that s-works pricing is gonna scratch 20k.
They're not. But you can just the same run the 350s (or 240s if you want to be fancy) with J bend spokes and EX511s and get the same wheelset. 1700s previously had the sleeve joint rim but after 1501s went carbon, the welded (EX511) rim was moved to the 1700 range. The 1501s also use a '240' hub, so pre-carbon EX1501s were straight pull, 28h 240s/EX511 wheels.
Here in the alpes I like trying to climb every stupidly steep climb instead of pushing, hehe. But yeah most people around here can't be asked and have switched over to ebike.
Last year I was running a double chainring 32/22 with the same 52T rear. I'm climbing everything I can around here (Portes du Soleil). Don't want to have to push. But most of the fire roads are made for 4x4 and are super vertical.
Just a better look at the Unno from Suarez's vlog
Intend will be releasing their brake system on Friday! YEAH! (Too bad I just ordered a pair of Direttissimas when they got in stock at Bike24...)
CNC machined front and rear triangles. Large range reach adjust (spam can) head tube. Mega thick chainstays. Very good looking. If it is just a prototype mule for testing it sure does look sexy and refined for one. Then again it's unno, so it shouldn't be surprising that their proto mule looks better than most production bikes!
Really hard to see for sure but looks to be a mid pivot. Looks to my eye to have a covered idler sticking up slightly from the bb area.
i think pretty much all DW-links are positioned like that height-wise?
Super hard to tell if that's just a chain guide or an idler w/chain guide. Chainline looks pretty normal (non-hp). Bash guard below looks to extend the same distance from the bb as the chain guide, I'd guess non hp, but not sure.
Has there ever been a dw link hp bike? Looks like a dw to me. There's dual short link hp bikes (canfield, crestline vpp, proto v10) but I don't recall dw high pivot.
Edit: I mean dw link like ibis and pivot use, not the new jack chain hp that dw patented recently (and is the lugged pivot prototype seen a while ago).
What a fickle, showy bunch we are, when we lament the purchase of likely the most powerful, blingy, and top rated brakes on the market, simply because there is the possibility of a newer, more obscure brake coming out (that we know nothing about)
Cornelius designed the Piccola when he worked for Trickstuff, so I know this will be very good!
I think they're perfecting their carbon bike, looks pretty much like their Dh frame "EVER"
FWIW Unno bikes are not DW links
Yes, this unno will presumably be a 29 and/or mullet version of their 27.5 Ever. But style wise perhaps its why the mule looks so much like a production bike.
Good point, but it's pretty similar to a dw. And I'm still curious if any dw bikes have been high pivot? I suspect (complete speculation here) that if the dw layout played nice with high pivot then dave would have designed that for the new pivot dh bike and patented it if he could. Instead he designed and patented the hp jack shaft arrangement.
The jackshaft layout probably makes more sense efficiency wise. It might not be a big benefit for DH bikes, but could come in handy with trail bikes.
Another angle of the new XC shock from Öhlins:
I think the modualarity of the upper shock mount is a pretty cool idea. Surprised to see it on an XC race bike, surely those bolts are 2-3 grams of wasted weight
