Hey kids! I've got a chicken coup full of sweet 26" bikes to help you bridge the gap to the big wheels...
Best part is they are doing a 20/22 mullet.

Wait ! Do you mean that wheels, like geo, should be proportional to your size ?!? Damn that's shocking I thought 29er was the solution for everyone, what should I believe ?! lol

Maybe one day we will have bikes with proportional geos (including rear end), and proportional wheel size per bike size ... imagine ...

I'm quite sure they won't update it so soon, given it already has received MX treatment whereas I think nomad 5 with its full 27 didnt rly sell. But this is just guessing.

Garbaruk's upcoming crank in some more detail: https://bikerumor.com/garbaruk-xc-crankset/

It's an XC/Gravel-ish affair, not really meant for heavier duty riding, comes in a 30 mm RF spindle/BB standard and has Cannondale chainring splines.

Not that crazy expensive at 420 €, ordering starts tomorrow, but upon seeing/hearing the details, it's decidedly meh. The Actofive crank looks a lot more interesting to be honest, more expensive though :/

There are some pics floating around... Bronson "V4.1" has a glovebox and looks like a sag window like the new Hiightower V3 as well.

Atherton confirmed in the PB podcast earlier this year they are working on a 170mm bike and a 130?mm bike. Apparently Affy was already riding the 170mm prototype so they probably aren't far from production considering how quickly Atherton can get them manufactured

The cranks only say "XX" not any number? I wonder what gain the new AXS has if even the Enduro guys are running it?

Canadian, so that's $8,356.71 which is still a lot of money.

lighter than eewings and less than half the price, could definitely see that becoming popular for the XC crowd.

Guys that I am close with at a SC bike shop said they are getting a new Bronson. I was surprised to hear them say that so I asked them immediately, what changed your mind? They mentioned its getting a few new minor adjustments. Biggest being internal storage and thats about as much as they hinted. I didnt care too much since it would probably cost me a kidney to have one anyways. So I didnt ask more. Theres a #trustmebro for you.

As I understand it, the Bronson was supposed to get the Glovebox, hence the big downtube.. But, it wasn't ready to go at that point.. But given the supply issues, would delaying the release to get it on there have been a bad thing?

The 170mm bikes are the new trend these days, everyone’s releasing 1. It’s becoming the new “do-it-all-class” bike. Smile

Am the only one who wants a not-too-slack (~66° HT) 130/140mm 29er as a do-it-all bike?

You’re not alone! Exactly what I went for with my latest long-term “staff bike build”: https://www.vitalmtb.com/features/Vital-MTB-Dream-Build-Nukeproof-React….

This thing turned out exactly how I imagined it. Pedals easy, carries good speed on all kinds of trails, plenty poppy and lively yet able to take the edge off rougher trails thanks to the coil shock. It now sits with Hope’s new Tech 4 brakes and a Fox 34, and I still ride it more than any other bike I have.
