It's obviously a concept bike, they even stated that at the unveiling. It's not going to have a one sided swing arm that's for sure, it's not going to have dual front brakes, and it's not going to have a water bottle cage mounted seat. The only thing you can bank on after seeing this is that it will have a gearbox.

I think we might see Blenki wailing on some WC course next season on a tuned down version of the Sunn, still carbon (or whatever the heck that is) gearbox and silky smooth to fit his riding style, keep those polished forks for a little flare too.

Sunn will have to ditch the belt drive.
From the UCI rules:
"The bicycle is a vehicle with two wheels of equal diameter. The front wheel shall be
steerable; the rear wheel shall be driven through a system comprising pedals and a
chain.

So that's why the BigHit never made it to UCI races... Wink

Even if they did want to enforce a chain rule, you can swap the belt drive for a chain drive on that gearbox.
Lucky they don't have a rule about it "must have a derailleur" Smile

I really like that more frame makers are looking at gearboxes. There are so many more benefits in that than a slight increase in wheel diameter...

It's a rule that is common to all UCI disciplines.
And it's the kind of small thing that only bitchy team managers would report if a rider started doing well on these. Kind of like Minnaar's mishap in Cairns: any guy outside the top30 would've gotten away with it without getting DQ'ed

I was really impressed with the (aesthetics) of the KTM trail bikes at Interbike. I wonder who manufactures them?

Regarding the racers I think it would be a real shame if Troy left Specialized. The bike seems to work perfect for him and he's the top dog in that team now. He's only going to get quicker too.

I'm baffled as to why Eric Carter left the team unless he's going somewhere with Aaron Gwinn? Total speculation. Eric seemed to be doing a fantastic job there. Shame.

That depends on the rider as far as I could tell. Mick is sponsored by Bell and Tracy uses Bluegrass helmets - as far as I could tell from the pictures

He had his day and he changed the sport and I have so much respect for him doing that and he's all every young racer back in the late 90's wanted to be like, that clip they released showed he is as stiff as a board on a bike and the skids just to throw some dirt in the air did not impress me I actual thought it was quite embarrassing. Palmer is a legend and represents the old DH mentality of partying your ass off then racing the next day. They brought him back to get publicity. Intense is a true american bike company plus they make great looking bikes that are damn good for riding (I have a 26" 951). I personally would love to see them back on the WC circuit. Palmer will have little sway for Intense's WC team and lets not forget they signed Brian Lopes as well. I think Hill would still continue to make his comeback regardless of the team he's on as long as it's not Specialized (ha). I'm not sure of your nationality but as an American I'm extremely excited to see if Intense can put together a strong team and return to a prominent status in the international bike community.

^I'll admit that's a funny comparison, but fwiw, Carter was always on point a solid coach/manager. Look at how the boys did this year, clearly he knew how to help keep them focused and motivated (granted Troy and Aaron are two of the most motivated and focused riders around, but still).

I swear, some of these "predictions" are really making my head hurt. Gwin rides a Honda, that's Renner's KTM. Really not that hard to figure out if you spend any amount of time on his IG

KTM seems to give (or give a solid discount on) bikes to RedBull athlete.
