2015 Racing Rumours - MTB Musical Chairs

10 Riders, 9 Teams, all speculation for now, people are talking, riders and team negotiating, we've seen some inaccurate Team Rumours in the past....

But here's what I have from trying to un-tangle all this...

GIANT = Beer (Nick Beer)
Scott = Long Black Haired Guy (Connor Fearon)
Mondraker = Horse (Cam Cole?)
Sunn = Kiwi (Blenkinsop / Brannigan / Brook / Masters Brother...)
Intense = Yeah Boy (Sam Hill? Palmer just claim he was a bad m*t***f**k*r in a Dirt Interview and praised him)
KTM = Kangaroo (Troy Brosnan? Mick Hannah? Bryn Atkinson?)
SRAM/TLD = Needles
Norco = Neko Mullaly
YT = Danny Hart

Sam Hill and Danny Hart going to Intense, paired up with Shaun Palmer... that would be the dream team. Heck, throw in Blenki and start making movies of them riding and I'll be throwing money at my screen.

I had a day dream that Peaty and Minaar retired and Santa Cruz hired Sam Dale and Adam Brayton and changed the team name to the Rat Pack. Thanks for coming back Team Rumors! As for the Rambo figure… who was it that had the sweet helmet with George Washington riding an eagle and holding a bazooka?

I think the Intense team is trying to focus on American riders from the sounds of it, so Neko on intense?

Thanks Warthog. Jean Phillippe, it never occurred to me to try to visually untangle that mess. Are you following lines? I would think that Sunn would want a French rider. Doesn't Loric Bruni say yeah a lot?

Rag doll = Fearon and Yeah boy = Blenki maybe?

Also, Sambo seems to be the only guy without a line drawn to him....

Sideshow go home, your drunk. That would be terrible. I give some credibility to the sunn/devinci label. For some reason ktm seems like lapierre... Im all for that palmer power towards neko and another hitter. Needles to norco, yea... Sam or troy bros... Now those two are a mystery

I predict that the Roo is Troy. And he's connected to the SRAM/TLD.

just a few observations;

Surely with Brosnan and Gwin being so close this year they wouldnt let Brosnan go? plus its not like spec cant afford them both.

With such a big budget both Giant and Scott must be looking for a top 10/5 rider or maybe even 2 in the case of giant.

with palmer in charge and intense saying they want some top US talent, maybe a duo of Mullaly and Shaw might be on the cards?

Bruni and is it Vergier? are both top riders and french so given the choice you would retain both and let Blenki go.

Given KTM's euro roots maybe Beer would be their choice given that hes only from just across the border, maybe Peckol as well as he is austrian so that would leave room for mongdraker to sign a top rider

*you're

(just kidding, but really)

I think the only other conclusion to be drawn [#rimshot] from this is could be Beer to Sunn, Heart and Dale to KTM and just Cole on YT. Look at the trends of the teams on there, and consider who likes to hangout with whom, what bikes fit what bikes fit certain riders' style, etc. But, this is like fantasy league - it's a guessing game, and in the end, we won't know until we know. But it sure is fun in helping fill that sad, lonely space now void due to the WC season being over.

Sunn ok, but is there something going at KTM what i've missed as Austrian? With what they have on offer now I am pretty sure you can't do any harm in any race at all (that said after giving their rigs a very disappointed try a few years back - they did not change much since)

Was really surprised to hear the Spesh team manager leaving. i thought eric carter was in for the long haul taking over from Sam heimahl? Gwin seems disinterested, and I just dont see the same team dynamic between him and Troy as there was with Troy and Hill.

Im pretty sure the Yeah has gotta be Gwin, every interview he usually starts an answer with "yeah" and if Intense wants to focus on American talent... Gwin and Chainless back together for the 2015 season.

Connor isnt leaving Kona, he's been a Kona kid for far too long, his roots are planted friends. Hill is going where the pay check is, Giant unless Peaty and Minaar retire, then its a new Syndicate without a doubt.

Spesh is gonna hang on to Troy.

The brothers Masters will most likely end up on the same team, Norco is an easy sell for family teams.

Ragot will stay on a Euro team, she isnt done unless the doc's say so, she wants to beat the youngsters to bad, she will be on KTM if they dip their feet into the sport and she will be the only one because they want an experienced racer to fix their bike for the market to get it going.

Blenki needs a bike under him that is fast enough to win on, he will end up on a team like Giant or take up the open spot on Spesh.

Those are my predictions.

I hope Hart will stay in Giant ..seems to suit him well ..but maybe Needles will go.
Also think Sam Hill will stay in CRC.
If im Lapierre boss ..i will keep french guys together ..so maybe Blenki ..will go ..
I bet whole trek is going to change a lot ..
And Connor is going to stay in Kona unless they bring someone else ..
And Troy ??? Pretty not sure about him ..

I don't think a bike like the Giant Glory would suit Danny well.
You'd think a little guy like him could use a more nervous bike.
Then again, maybe Danny is riding so nervously that it helps him ride more composed - or whatever Danny's equivalent for that is

There's nothing less likely than the Masters' being on a high profile team.

I don't see Glory as "problem" or whatever else for him ..or his riding style ..
He is usually very good in quali ..so its maybe matter of time ..when he is going to win again.. just being nervous in finals ..and when he is more exp. rider ..its going to be ok !! :-)
Maybe u r right ..he may be better on different bike ..which one u would prefer for him ??

But still ill be surprised if he will leave Giant ..:-)

I really don't see Neko and Palmer working together, they're pretty much opposite personalities.
In the very unlikely case of this happening, I hope Neko stays true to himself and doesn't turn into one of those cocky assholes.
There's more than enough of that among other riders.

I remember Heart voicing frustration with the Glory toward the end of last season in an interview.
Am I making that up?

I hope Hill doesn't go to Intense, Intense are a cult brand but there days have been if you asking me in the racing world and bringing Palmer back is in my eyes scraping the barrel .

He had his day and he changed the sport and I have so much respect for him doing that and he's all every young racer back in the late 90's wanted to be like, that clip they released showed he is as stiff as a board on a bike and the skids just to throw some dirt in the air did not impress me I actual thought it was quite embarrassing. I can't see him bringing anything to a team or younger riders as all he did was drink party and spit the dummy quite a lot.

Hill does not need that in his life right now he's so close to being back on top, a change of team and bike is not really what he would want surely, CRC will/should be able to match any wage anyone else offers Hill.

Minnaar's is up - he'll retire or finish up on another team at then retire. He won't re-sign Santa Cruz now that Josh is a front runner.
