I have a shimano derailleur to warranty, where do you submit your claim?
You need a shop to submit it for you..

"looks like a yeti SB150"

(It not. I'm just anticipating PB users comments for the release.)

It's more like the old Yetis. It's got an eccentric that changes direction.

I get that but why bother with the hanger in that case? If it's no longer a sacrificial break-away part then it seems about time to get rid of it altogether.

I’ve wondered that myself, guess it’s just a hangover. I’ve have bikes with hangers that cost more than a lower mid tier derailer .

That's what Sram patented. And the thinking is once UHD takes over the world, they will put out a 'native hangerless derailleur'.

Some bike manufacturers supplied direct mount hangers for shimano derailers where you didn’t use the b link.

Yes, there is a good reason. The chain is under tension there. Look at how well the front derailleur worked.
I answered my own question as I hit submit so I removed it 🤣

Also, with the derailleur above the cassette, you would have to pedal backwards to shift...

That was a bit different, they tried to mount the derailleur further back and tuck it under the cassette more I guess.

Vital's first ride review of the new canyon Torque:on has been on youtube for 6 hours, but still no article on the website, weird.

Anyway, my main comment is why oh why would you call out he-who-must-not-be-named in the video! Just how many trolls do we want to attract to these parts?

He who must not be named? In the beginning of the video or regarding the 29ers? And what am I missing?

Figured it was that. Was that aimed at EugenM? Smile

Did something happen somewhere on Vital to make him famous?

I wouldn’t say famous. Just a well played inside joke.

Isn't Capra the translation of "goat" instead of "beetle" ?

YT Scarab would not be a terrible name for a bike.

The only new things I can come up with that they don't already have or over lap the current range too much are the following.

1. XC bike (Not very on brand but who knows)
2. Gravel/CX Bike (goes for broke with a 63.5° HA and 77° SA)
3. Shorter travel E-bike

Probably 1 or 2 though.

Ancillotti's (a small Italian brand) enduro race bike is called "Scarab" so that would be weird

That would be cool, my guess would a Capra replacement based on the Izzo design to accomodate a water bottle. 160-170mm 63 degrees up front.

Ebike could also be realistic, they need to upgrade to the ep8 at the very least.

Bug or beetle would be a good name for a budget German e bike
