Does make sense. Is it the top part of Andorra or Val Di sole that has a real slack top section? There have been som puzzlig on that track to get it right, or that they go for a comprimise either at the top or bottom. Dual compression/rebound circuits like Push ind. does?

We could easily ride hardtails if we ride what we needed. But isn't it fun to buy stuff, ou don't need but want that is just over the top, but is really cool? 😎

Yeah, Andorra was like that, smooth and relatively flat at the top, then it dropped in like a mofo. But it could also be a different setting for when the shock heats up. Or when the rider gets tired. Etc.,etc.

I also want double crown on my trail bike, but it will be too much heft on mellow trails


As for the Öhlins TTX36, it seems it is adjustments on the fly rather than two fully isolated compression valves with individual tune. Isolated valves seem to be even better than adjustments in my opinion.

Hate to be devils advocate But my DVO Diamond makes a similar noise when I run too high of a spring rate, not enough rebound and too little negative preload. I recon it's just a fast rebound with a smaller negative spring.

I think I just worked out the Bruni mystery. He's running an eccentric BB in the forward position. Which would firstly give him a longer rear centre but secondly it would completely skew his Anti-squat numbers. The demo Is know for a high Anti-squat about 130% through the whole travel creating a lot of pedal kickback. Therefore Loic can use the eccentric to create a lower pedal kick-back and lower Anti-Squat but compensate for the losses with a compression lockout.

Moving the BB by a few mm will change the antisquat by a couple percentage points at most. And I highly doubt it's 130 % throughout the travel... Antisquat numbers usually fluctuate wildly depending on the length of the linkages and the resulting movement of the instant centre of rotation. And the chainline.

I am sensing sarcasm in your post, but I just wanted to clear it up for anyone not seeing it.

fair enough! But I was running the both the debon air and then coil in the new boxxer RC2 (its possible but the way to do it is not ideal and risky!!! Would NOT recommend running the old coil kit in the new Boxxer, this causes several issues!) Anyway, the sound wasn't when I was riding with debon air (even with fast rebound) but appeared only during pull ups with the coil kit innit. I am pretty much sure he runs coil, but as anytime, can't just open up his boxxers haha

The difference in the sound between debon air and coil kit comes in my opinion:
1) Debon air has an air controlled top out device while
2) the coil has an steel spring top out device

When he pulls on his bars the coil fully extends and hits the steel top out spring while if you pull out on the debon air kit there is hardly any noise or force you may feel or hear.

I think Mark Wallace has always experimented with a coil fork, using progressive springs. A few months ago I saw an ad on PB buy and sell, where the Owner of Dumbar cycle (not sure if I remeber right) was selling his bike with a converted coil fork. The ad stated that the coil was progressive and came from Wallace himself.

I bought Dean Lucas's 2014 worlds Wilson, Has a 2015 pre production world cup fork, but inside was a coil from an RC model. We pulled that bike apart at the shop and were gobsmacked at all the unobtanium shit on it. Later, I found out it was a test mule for the 650b bikes and explained the weird linkage and rub marks lol.

It looks alot like the medusa but I think it might be the new shorty because maxxis still sell the medusa as an xc tire and Vali was racing DH on it! Also someone earlier in this thread said Minnar said it was the new shorty.

So what bikes should soon to be released? We saw the Cannondale Jekyll, Norco Range(?), Nukeproof Giga(?) and the long travel Forbidden all with a carbon frame, so it shouldn't be long until they get officially released right?

I think it depends on manufacturing. The delays this year really set things back. I know Norco was wanting to release all their new bikes way earlier in the season (from source at Norco) but delays and lack of events killed their schedule. They don't want to release bikes that aren't available to be put out in the wild
