Let's not forget that Mick is the all-time king of the speed trap. Seemed like no matter where he qualified, he managed to be the fastest whenever there was a speed trap on course.

If you buy consumer direct, "...you're indirectly telling a bike shop to pound sand..." Well, by selling a low spec bike for $6,699 and the high spec bike for $13,099 (like the new Pivot Firebird) bike shop manufacturers are telling new, low income and young riders to pound sand. And any shop that won't work on a bike because "it's consumer direct" or "we don't carry that brand" deserve to go the way of the T-rex.

LOL. turning on the internet this morn yielded 500 different references to the women's winner. i have since edited out her name as to not cause anyone more heartache. since the women had the bridge in their race, it seemed noteworthy and there are women looking at it in the thumbnail.

Also, if we can get 250 people to pre-order and pay in full. I'm sure we could build a Phantom V3 frame that weighs in at only 2.5lbs including shock and axle. Same geo and everything. Only caveat is this frame will only come with a 7 day warranty, and High School NICA rules will be enforced. Both wheel's must stay on the ground at all times. If you so much as pop a wheelie you will be disqualified, and your warranty void. On the plus side though, you could run over the frame with your enduro bike, and just...

I have this conversation with a lot of customers. In the PNW, these are 2nd/3rd/etc bikes. If you want one rig for everything, most of these brands offer a 140mm 29er, which seems to be the sweet spot. Unfortunately, the 140mm completes typically come with a spec that is burlier/heavier, almost the same as their 160mm counterparts. What I've been doing lately is custom building the 140mm platform with a build kit that is closer to the 120mm builds. Pike, 27mm rims, 2.3 or 2.4 EXO tires, etc. Keep the weight under 30lbs but have enough travel to back up...
