True, have you ever seen Steve Wentz, on a 2.2 Ikon? It would shred itself if he even looked at it...

Mike Buell Added a comment about press release Made in the USA and Totally Recyclable, Revel Carbon Wheels Are Here

Might be a scam when you are shipping your plastic to another country and it just ends up in the ocean. I think controlling the process and actually seeing the material used to create new products is a little different. Seems they are on to something IMO.

Also, if we can get 250 people to pre-order and pay in full. I'm sure we could build a Phantom V3 frame that weighs in at only 2.5lbs including shock and axle. Same geo and everything. Only caveat is this frame will only come with a 7 day warranty, and High School NICA rules will be enforced. Both wheel's must stay on the ground at all times. If you so much as pop a wheelie you will be disqualified, and your warranty void. On the plus side though, you could run over the frame with your enduro bike, and just...

Very well said Noah, and fully agree. I believe it was Graves who was once quoted at an enduro race saying something along the lines of. You get to choose the parts you put on your bike, parts you trust, you don't get to choose the wight of the bike using those parts. I can't speak for all the bikes in this test, but since I was personally responsible for picking the spec. on the Banshee Phantom, I feel relatively qualified to offer a little insight on that one. Is it all based on cost vs. weight? Not exactly. Especially...

My advice to people: do not weigh your bikes - unless you're trying to build up a hill-climb specific bike. There have been a lot of tests and studies about bike weight, and the consensus is, it doesn't matter nearly as much as people think it does. For some reason, we all still think trail bikes should be ~28lbs, it's been that number for as long as I can remember. It was that number when I worked at shops - before we had dropper posts and tire choices beyond: folding, wire bead, or DH. When forks had 30 or 32mm...

I think the issue is that we want our short travel bikes to be able to endure the same kind of trail abuse as our Enduro bikes for the most part. Manufacturers have recognized this, and while they are using smaller forks and slightly narrowrr wheels on these bikes, the rest of the components are fairly similar in weight, as well as the frames weighing about an extra pound or two in recent years. The big thing I noticed going to a shorter travel 29er, was not the weight, but the agility while descending. These bikes are so flickable and...

Mike Buell Added a comment about press release Banshee Releases Three More Brand New Mountain Bikes

11/15/2019 9:11am
Thanks for the comment and I have to agree! I'm likely a bit biased, and full disclaimer, I'm employed by Banshee. Been riding Banshee since 2010. All the models from the V1 Spitfire, V2 Rune, Prime, Spitfire, Phantom. Now been testing the V3 Spitfire and Prime for the last two seasons. As much as I've loved all the previous bikes, the KS2 and new geo is so good!

Banshee Liked a comment about Press Release New Bikes from Banshee! Introducing the All-New Titan 29 and Rune V3

What isn't very clear in any of these images I realize is that there is a huge space in front of the bottom bracket for any mud or water to fall out... much like on the Legend. I've been riding versions for nearly three years in Scotland... Trust me, mud is not my friend, but not had any issue with it.

Actually the deeper insertion means that the saddle can drop about 5mm lower on the V3 than the V2 small for same dropper length.

may be really old ones had issues, nothing after 2014 has consistent reliability issues IMO.
