Maybe you got unlucky with the test bike brakes you tried? When correctly set up, mavens feel dramatically more powerful than 4 pot XT's or Codes. IMO mavens make saints look like a cross country brake. I went down in n out slab (long steep slab) on 4 pot xt with metallic and I yarding on my front brake like a mother fucker. I wouldn't have any concerns doing that with mavens even on organic pads tbh. I've only briefly tried Intend and Radic and was impressed by the braking power, but I don't have enough experience on either to...

I'm pretty sure Lachie Stevens McNab had the best season out of the male athletes on that team. But I too would like to know where Hauser is going

does anyone know where Chris Hauser is going to? I think he had the best season out of all male TFR athletes last year…

I think like most things this very much depends on where and what you ride. Here in Vancouver almost everyone I know is on a 160-180mm enduro bike. Our trails have a lot of big roots and big compressions so we’re using every bit of travel we can get. Even if you primarily shuttle to the top you’ll likely be pedalling at some point so you rarely see downhill bikes at Seymour.

You can make the mavens extremely short. At the end of the my bleed process I pressurize the system. This entails doing the whole process as normal, then closing up the lever, opening the caliper, and pressurizing the system using the bleeding edge valve. It doesn’t take much more than a few CCs of fluid. I’m sure it’s not recommended, but I prefer this over cheating the pads in. Downside, whenever you change pads you’ll need to do a quick bleed most likely due to excess fluid.

Yeah, i agree with you. Moi Moi was keeping enduro going with his vlogs and was a more reliable and timely source of information on the races than the UCI. Charley Murray has already mentioned his race program for 2026 will be "slightly different." No idea, what that means though.

He saw the writing on the wall before last season started. Knew no teams were going to sign riders going forward for good salaries. He was 'forced' into retirement. If YT offered him another $250k/yr for 3 more years, he'd still continue racing. Just like all these guys and gals that are 'retiring'. ...totally understandable that they don't want to grind and want to 'move on' with their lives when they're only being offered tiny salaries or bro hookups. But that's all that's on the table anymore for Enduro.

Regarding Moi Moi. Kind of hoping he as well as the rest of the enduro people start using the “Trans-X” races to have their own thing for bragging rights. Kind of what racing used to be in the first place. Don’t know if anyone else noticed, but he seems to have started following Forbidden in the last half of the year or so. Anyway Jack on a Druid or Dreaddy is a personal pipe dream. Just wish my calves weren’t so fat. I am keeping nosew parches in business during the winter and should probably shave my legs in Sunner...

Doesn’t his post say he decided to retire from racing before the past season. That said with no money in enduro there is little point in hanging around Excited for the next chapter of moi moi tv. Jack corners like few others. Looks great on camera. Hope he finds a good partner to ride for.

Jacks announcement took a few of us by surprise last night. It's sad that one of the best riders in the world, arguably the most charismatic too is unable to secure a ride for next year and in some ways, coerced into retirement. I hope he finds a role somewhere, he would be a fantastic "face" of a company. The content would be top level. Jack is majorly responsible for MTB in Australia spreading so far, his influence on youngsters and his personal approach to grassroots racing that I have seen first hand is commendable. He truly is one of...

Such a massive blow to the discipline to have Jack and Jesse both leave. I hate today it but this could be the nail in the coffin for enduro racing at a worlds level

At least another week for some of the "unknowns" to make official announcements. Moir is signing with the City of Bentonville and will have an ankle monitor on that prevents him from leaving the area. He'll be slanging pastries and coffee out of a smoko stand in the woods when not riding.

1. Making positive life changes to reduce stress. I quit a high paying job this year that was causing some pretty heavy health issues from the stress, which was scary- young kids, mortgages, and a wife in grad school isn’t cheap. It’s all worked out great though and couldn’t be happier with the decision. 2. With the career change, I was able to finally get back into great riding shape again, which makes everything more fun. Not being smoked on day 4 of our annual BC riding trip was icing on the cake. 3. Got a DH bike again after...

1) Teaching my partner how to ride! She decided she wanted to try so I slapped her on my big bike and have been chasing her all around the blue flow trails of Van Isle on my gravel bike for a few months now. I’m so proud to see her make rapid progress outside her comfort zone AND see the...
