Agree on the UX comment. The simplicity of the RBTV app is so good. I'd disagree on the timing comment as effective, accurate and consistent timing is a fundamental for DH racing. My point is that what we got from RBTV at Crankwork Rotorua is basically what we always got at world cups. No full top to bottom runs, less women and glitches on screen. Even though everyone keeps barking on about how RB was so much better. My point being RBTV offered an inferior WC broadcast but the attraction was it was free

https://www.pinkbike.com/news/first-ride-bikeyoke-releases-barmate-hand… I'm sure Vital will have a news story sooner or later too, for now PB will have to do. Anywho, finally some proper bar dimensioning being put forward. Dealing with the topic, I think it's essential as current values tell nothing meaningful (qed, a bar 55 mm high from clamp to grips comes out to essentially 35 mm rise in the real world). If you look at Renthal's fatbars, MTB versions have the same vague dimensioning problem but on the moto side EVERYTHING is laid out in detail. You can exactly see where your grips will be in relation...

Judging by the downvotes, as long as the coverage is free, showing only half the course, half of the women and the timing cutting out is all fine. Sweet

luckymixes Liked a reply to forum topic What is the consensus on mullet for tall riders (DH)

Mullets for DH feel much more agile, and the speed feels the same. At least for me, but I'm not a racer. DH 29ers require you to be more centered on the bike. I'm 1.88 with long legs and in my first jump trail testing previous gen Commencal Supreme I felt the tyre buzz... Not worth it for marginal gains on stability. If you are not fighting for tenths of a second on a racetrack, I would say mullets all the way, regardless of height. One thing to check is geo charts (specially BB height) since some bikes get lower...

I've got mullets and 29ers, and the axle heights is the real difference maker. It gives a feel or riding behind the front wheel instead of on-top of it. It lowers the endo angle (the angle at which the bike tips over forward) giving more confidence to push into the front and brake really hard. My 29er definitely rolls nicer through chunk and pedals nicer, but I've never really needed extra speed through a rock garden, it's about speed in and out of corners for me. Mullets whips nicer, which is a big benefit. Im 177cm with short legs so...

The Vorsprung shock is somewhat similar to a CC Double Barrel in that they are both twin tube designs like Ohlins pioneered. The Telum has the most interesting design out of the bunch with a solid main piston and very unique means of adjusting the compression and rebound damping curves. It wins "showroom feel" as well, I have never felt a shock so supple and smooth. Perhaps a twin tube shootout with Cane Creek, Ohlins, Fox DHX2, and Telum? We're just getting started, big plans for the future. 👍

there are great trails in Santa Monica, Simi Valley, Agoura Hills, Pasadena, Laguna Beach, Silverado Canyon, Trabuco Canyon, etc. In other words, SoCal has tons of great trails. Simi/Agoura have some of the best trails in the country, IMO. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NiEdtGlcUP4&t=4s BTW, Mark in this video is Mark Clemons, one of the guys who founded Crestline bike and an absolute unit...

Spider is incredibly fun. Kids 12 and under ride and race free there, btw! They even have a super cute motel on site with a marina and a pool. Just across the street from Spider is RPR, which is a ranch full of sweet slopestyle and enduro stuff(and a niiice floodlit ds track)… 20 minutes away is Station mtb park, a tractor shuttle spot(that is getting a fresh DS track). When I go to Central TX to build trail every winter, I plan it all around how close my air bnb is to Burnett. TX Hillcountry winter riding is really...

When he actually retires hopefully he wants to do some DH, if anyone at RedBull is listening this would be an opportunity for some awesome content. Get Ken to come out to the Windrock national, pair him up with Aaron Gwin and have him show him how to do track walk. How the whole race day works, which lines to change and take during practice and sort of guide him through the day while filming it all and then have Ken do a zero pressure race run would be such awesome content. You'd get some crossover from both fan bases...

That's the best answer for 20-year-old options. The Minion has been out for 20+ years, but I could only imagine the compounds back then. Welcome back 17 questions!

20 year old tires for sure! I remember that there were some decent tires in 2005, Minions were pretty similar to today's tire, if I remember correctly.
