I've been wondering what the next big thing is going to be for the industry to try and hype us up on... Will dual purpose Enduro/ DH bikes be it? Go from Enduro pedal friendly bike to DH plow machine by simply switching out most of the major components on your bike..

I think it's less dropping Dak, more not giving him as much as either Dak hoped for or making some budget for Ronan and Pinky. I have a world of respect to Dak, especially on his comeback journey, and I think he can contend for the win - but put on Mondraker's hat and think about the 3 elite male riders you have : 1. Ronan - Got a win this year, rides crazy (good views), young, redbull helmet, not consistent. 2. Pinky - Pretty consistent in the final top 10, young, has potential, still transitioning into elite imo 3...

So us weirdos that were riding 170mm Jr and Mr T's on our rigs in the late 90s/early aughts were trailblazers then?

Maybe it's the rider wanting to move somewhere else and not the team dropping him…

Loic has made some posts on socials. Short version was that he was in the medic tent for the podium, straight to the hospital and stayed the night. Caught the first flight he could back home and made it in time for the birth of his son. Congrats papa.

I feel like you’re half right here. Mainly, I can’t believe we aren’t seeing more e-dh rigs.

Apparently I opened an angry can of worms with my original comment... But just so it's clear: he missed finals in Loudenvielle because of wheel failures in both Q1 and Q2. I know riders break stuff, and some tracks are worse than others, but that just seems like a completely unacceptable mechanicals rate on that track in particular. All I'm saying is his team should spend a considerable amount of the off season testing proto compounds/inserts/rims/glue/blowtorches/tubular tech so they would have a consistent podium rider.

Just wanted to chime in, and I know I’ve said this here before, but this is one of the hardest parts of being a privateer. Hard to fly halfway across the world with five spare wheels, let alone have them set up and waiting in the car park with rotors, cassettes, and tires mounted. Being able to confidently obliterate wheels in practice with no consequences is a pretty huge advantage when practice time is so limited. The alternative to spare wheels is running too much tire pressure (which obviously sucks) or riding gingerly (which kind of defeats the whole point).

Dak off Mondraker seemed to be a speculation, especially with the YT riders looking for homes.. Dak and Pinky in the top 5 at MSA is great for both of them. Dak's US Open win is a comeback story that could be a Lifetime movie.. Pinky has been trending in the right direction lately.. Ronan is damn exciting to watch because you know he'll be pinned and it will be, in his words, helicopters or podiums.. Hopefully, the team just holds onto all 3 of them..

This is not to take away anything from Dunne, I think he's one of the top of the heap right now, especially in the long run, but he can be a bit ride or die, which has come through a few times this year with big results or none at all with crashes/smashes that caused DNF's or low placements, or podiums with 10-15th places otherwise, which is amazing don't get me wrong Dak on the other hand, even missing half the season because of the non race related accident and having to rebuild from not being able to train or...
