Are you me? I've also had my Spire with an X2 for about two weeks and it feels amazing. I just raced it over the weekend at Ashland and moved up 6 places in my category compared to the early season on my old Patrol. I set the rear end up with reccommended settings based on the least sag reccommended by Transition and haven't felt the need to touch it. Seems like Pinkbike had trouble with the Superdeluxe as well.

I've had my Spire for around two weeks now and have been very impressed with it. It's interesting that you & other sites have said the rear suspension is harsh - that's just about the last word I would use to describe it. That super deluxe shock must be doing the bike dirty, I got the build with an X2 shock. I'll offer a counter argument for the 30 tooth chainring - I think it's a perfect spec choice for the sort of riding a lot of people will be doing on this bike, at least in the PNW where...

I've tried a number of different shock configurations on a number of different bikes. The idea that the Super Deluxe is somehow a bad air shock is a bit of a misnomer. What the Super Deluxe does lack is the tunability of a Float X2, but in outright performance, I'd say its right up there with the best of them. ...but don't listen to me. Cool bike, no doubt. But the price is ridiculous. Santa Cruz is pretty decently priced higher up on the range... But god their cheaper stuff is robbery.

It is my opinion that electronic suspensions have no place in racing. I'm all for engineering marvels and recreational use. I think we should take note from other racing disciplines that have removed the racer from the equation and then reversed course.

Win on Sunday sell on Monday. I'm all for new tech even if its a giant f'ing Dork fest like this new stuff is but first I want see it put through some proper race season torture tests and prove it can do the job. Maybe its just me being old and crusty but when you have been apart of this sport for 17 years now you become a little skeptical of new products that go about to solve an issue none of us really felt we had. That appears to be the case. There was nothing about it in the information we were sent, and the website does not show any new 2022 models for the full 29er Meta.

@iceman2058 What this site really needs in terms of structure is a "dashboard" like pinkbike has. A place where all your recent activity and reactions to it are highlighted so you can quickly see what happened while you were away. It´s the only thing holding me back from participating more on vital. I just can´t be bothered to check all the different sections seperately. Give us quick access to all our current favourite topics and user engagement will skyrocket.
