Mr.Nally Liked a reply to forum topic EWS Coverage & the overall ROI for companies sponsoring enduro racers
6/22/2022 12:47am One thing people seem to have not grasped fully is that the EWS have essential "dumbed down" the sharp end of the race series to facilitate TV production. The Pro-stage is all about TV, a stage that most often finishes near the paddock or a town, short enough to have multiple cameras placed on it and practiced once raced twice. So essential the pro stage idea was added to the racing to make TV. Like WRC has it's Power stage. Video the pro stage on Saturday, make a small live or Re-live show and then tell the story of the...

6/22/2022 12:41am Change is good but that's not going to be an improvement for us as spectators or the riders who were able to handle the steepness of the old track. A very different race.

6/21/2022 11:48am I heard some of land the old track ran through has been sold for development. Just hearsay though.

6/21/2022 11:44am Hopefully they’ve done some more improvements to the new track compared to the original helmet cam video released a couple months(iirc) ago. Didn’t look World Cup worthy then, starting to look more promising now. The lower steeps of Andorra are what made it iconic and in my opinion one of the best wc tracks of all time.

6/16/2022 2:18pm Warner said (in the live feed) that Camille was then only woman he saw/knew about (can't remember the exact wording) get a clean run. (Isn't that also what happened at 2020 Worlds?).

6/16/2022 2:14pm The outlook is bleak. One very faint glimmer of a silver lining for me is that it might allow old Steve Jones to ditch embn and get involved in the dh coverage.

6/16/2022 11:51am We also have no guarantee that there won't be advertising alongside the paywall, from what I've read that's the case with their other cycling coverage. They also have some pretty woeful commentators and pundits on their books. Bradley Wiggins is just an embarrassment in his new role in front of the camera (or at least he was from what I...

6/16/2022 11:20am Okay, I've investigated the track cycling thing they're so self-gassed about. They did, indeed, choose 18 men and 18 women trackists. Gave them costumes and trotted them out under lights. Six scheduled rounds around the blood money globe. Equal prize money seems the only thing that'd be cool to bring to DH. Trackfans seem to like it, because track racing was dead. DH is so good right now, this won't help me. I've convinced myself this is their plan. All the red yarn lines up perfectly on my wall, the thumbtacks are all there. They're gonna sell this back to...

6/15/2022 11:29am Safe to say we haven't seen any Discovery produced content yet, we'd be paying by now if that was the case. What is worrying is that Jack Moir and Jesse Melamed can produce more compelling entertainment with their GoPros than ESO can with their resources.

6/15/2022 10:42am These guys are not your savior. Mans talking about biathlon as an idea to "elevate" the sport. I hope Chris Ball died a little inside hearing that because I sure as fuck did.

6/15/2022 1:01am dude I like your optimism, but I can't see these suit types employing someone like warner yelling out "it's wetter than a whale with a bladder infection" on the livestream. It will be some goober in boat shoes saying "he did a jump"

6/15/2022 12:49am Obviously all this is speculation but damn I'm worried. Loved that you could watch the full replay whenever. Living in the PST time zone I would normally wake up, go for a quick ride and then watch the full replay at my leisure. As long as you stayed off social media it was like watching live. Also bummed that we wont be hearing Rob, Elliot or Tracey any more. Whats the chance that they find some dude who have never even ridden a bike to commentate this?
