Jenna won as many races as Jake Jewett last year. ...and she won the Women's Elite New Zealand Continental Series race this last weekend beating Sascha Earnest who by many accounts is a podium threat for this upcoming women's World Cup season. It's fun to pretend she's only around because her and BK are together, but I think a tough couple seasons for injuries made us forget that she's actually pretty fast and was a Junior World Champ.
Considering he's world champ you'd think he'd be on the muc off team, but then again someone said Dan atherton could win a World Cup this year so any thing is possible
In 2025, The first rider to win a World Cup on a belt drive bike will be in the junior category. A elite rider on a belt drive bike will not win a World Cup in 2025
" Orbea still doesn't have a DH bike yet that we have seen" (bold is mine). It cracks me up that we keep dwelling on this while the folks w/ the biggest stake, who's careers and livelihoods are on the line, clearly feel good enough about what's available (or will be) to sign on the dotted line...
We have entered the part of silly season where people float (and debate!) wild speculation that a 42 year old Dan Atherton returns to downhill (last result was 57th at Crankworx in 2018) on a new rubber band bike to chase a $100k podium. Perhaps we need an award for most ridiculous rumor every year. 🤣🤣🤣
” And the most important - is it over after 15 years? Not even close as the people behind the name are still very much involved in both racing and developing local communities and are even going to do mountain bike racing things on a bigger scale (for a hint take a look at the rumors sites and look for the UK-Switzerland connection…). The legacy of the team continues to live, especially strong with riders that used Unior’s factory team to either jump to the very top or quite simply conquer it!” Translation: The Gamux team will merge with Unior-Sinter...
Maybe the kid is simply good enough to get a spot on the team. He is national champ in his age group and I doubt SCS would have taken him on if they didn't think he has potential.
Just listened to the MUTN podcast , moves I hadn't heard before were Cam Bal to Yeti , heather Wilson to Mondraker and Greg Williamson to Gamux . The other one was the MS team off Mondraker frames and on GT but obviously that looks unlikely now although I would imagine contracts would of been already signed so who knows. Worth adding that the rumor about felix Griffiths paying for a spot on the syndicate is untrue and he's there the same as any other rider . It was striking how many big names there are outside of the ranked...
The Chances of Daprela ending up at pivot whilst Siegenthaler is still involved is 0 - not to go back to shite talking about rumours but she was maybe the strongest hater of daprela when all “that” info came out
