The damper is pretty consistent. Damper fluid is designed to have consistent viscosity across a wide range of temperatures… that is the whole reason to have a special oil. Plus the fact that shim valves aren’t terribly sensitive to viscosity in the first place. I’ve run these experiments on a dyno FYI- small % changes at most. Air springs on the other hand gain noticeable pressure when hot. I’m always a bit skeptical when someone complains about their coil shock becoming a pogo stick due to heat. More than likely it’s you and your (weak, non-world cup) legs getting fatigued...

The best experience is no Warranty experience.... 100%. Im a firm believer Bike QC is terrible and us as a community MUST do better to reject these bikes - I pointed out to 3 guys at skyline QT their bikes were bad and they had no idea. My 4 canyons, all had multiple frame replacements... they just kept throwing frames at me to get 'lucky' wtf is that. My current one is that the bike was built with a part from one of their other bikes, quickly identified and replaced overnight(overnight shipping)

Kryptotal rear rolls pretty slow. I like the Xynotal better in back.

If you met someone at the trailhead, asked them what % progressive kinematic their frame had and what is the leverage ratio they would look at you like you were an alien holding a rectal probe. "I bought it because it was blue" would be their response. Normal people don't care about this stuff lol. I've tried them all over the years, from literally Regressive designs, through to 45% DH monsters. I keep coming back to 25% been my sweet spot on a coil for an enduro/long travel bike. It's my goldilocks number. What is more important, is the Ratio...

To me oneup bars had a negative when it came to tech sections and riding where Im pulling and pushing the bike around, too much flex. A good set of carbon bars is best and in the right positon. I found grips and brake angle to be the biggest change. Grips I went with Trail 1 Hells Gate, they are a bit thicker than ODI Elite Pro I was running forever, once broken in the grips feel amazing! I can run my hands a bit looser on the grips and the extra cushion helps too. Brake position I tried to...

It was a good few years ago when Matt Simmonds was developing this (with the seperate damper/ spring set up). Chatted to Matt about it and had a roll around the car park (on the bike....not Matt). Super interesting but don't think it was ever meant for production.

Jonathon Simonetti Liked a product review REVIEW - The Updated 2024 Yeti SB165

5/21/2024 9:44am
The Yeti SB Lineup has morphed into a new generation of bikes over the last two years, with some models switching over to 29-inch wheels and others popping up in 27.5-inch variants. There are revisions to frame construction, suspension kinematics, and size-specific geometry across all models. With the latest iteration of the SB165 being teased over the last couple of months, it was no surprise that it has undergone the same treatment. Created initially as the dual-27.5-inch option for the wildly successful SB150 platform, the longest-travel SB model has become more synonymous with the freeride scene than the enduro crowd...

I was born in Poland, but I grew up in California....spent 40 years there. Now I'm back in Poland...as luck would have it....in Bielsko-Biała. For the past 3 years I've been riding most of the trails that'll be used at the event. Prior to that, my resume includes mostly Skegg's Point and Braille in the Santa Cruz Mountains, a run down Mt. Lemmon outside of Tuscon, and some Tapia Canyon (Castaic, California). I'm old and mostly ride motorcycles with MTB stuff peppered in here and there. Nevertheless, I think I have some unique credibility here. So if you will endulge...

the answer is you should have bought one yesterday Wink I'm a big proponent of them, I got my first one in 2018 and have enjoyed literally 10's of thousands kilometers of good times. It's a simple question, do you ride for fun? Do you want to see new locations, explore? Do you want to ride to the trails from home? Are you short on time? If you answer yes to one or more of those, a e-mtb will be great. I still have an aggressive steel hardtail, and I love riding that too. But e-mtb re-ignited my passion for...

Lol. If anything strength is very underrated in DH. Half the times people crash is because they crumple and lose body position when going fast. Getting stronger improves everything. You don't have to be powerlifting strong, but stronger is better
