10/23/2026 11:04am This is such a loaded question. sea to sky and Vancouver island are expensive, but it’s a trade off for climate, trail access and the amount of activities close by. I can ride from my door almost year round. If/when we get snowed out the ski hill is 25 min drive. Winter surfing small wind swell is close, and good surf is a 2.5 hr drive. Housing isn’t cheap and doesn’t make sense, but after living in a few places that didn’t provide a healthy work life balance we lucked into jobs in a great community. Sacrifice some affordability for...

10/23/2026 8:35am Smolyan, Bulgaria. Southern Rhodope mountains, right by the Greek border. Totally off most people’s radar — and ticks a lot of your boxes. Riding: 25+ enduro trails accessible with flexible shuttle (local 4x4 pickups, not resort infrastructure — but that’s what keeps costs down), plus a small bike park nearby with 5–6 chairlift-accessed trails. Season April–November. Proper mountain terrain, up to ~1000m of descent per lap depending on the trail. Rocky, rooty, loamy — a bit of everything. Nothing is crowded because almost nobody outside Bulgaria knows about this region yet. Cost of living: house in a Rhodope village, 20–40k...

10/13/2026 10:13pm The enduro from ‘07 on was always pretty good on climbs. Granted, weights went up with travel and slackened geos… and I haven’t ridden the most recent one. But if the argument for not buying one is due to your legs and lungs sucking, that’s not entirely the bike’s fault. From my wizarding, I’ve deduced there used to be a lot more “climb adverse” people out there who were more on the husky side of life and pushed uphill while complaining the whole time. Many in this Enduro-bro group were buying 170mm enduro bikes to more or less suffer going...

10/13/2026 9:59pm Just strava stuff, but it really depends on where and what you're riding. I like the maxxis new dh casings myself. they roll fast, have a nice supported feeling, but still have a bit of that radial compliance feeling on the initial bit of a hit. They've been fastest on the dh bike and e-bike. No way I'd pedal those on the enduro bike ! The schwalbes are faster at going slow, if that makes sense. They shine on slower tech and roots where you can't just pitter patter your way through stuff, and have to just plow it. They're...

10/9/2026 8:21pm Today I had first ride on HR3 with new DH casing and does exactly what is says. I dropped psi by 3 to 20 and eventually to about 18 psi. It was really soft but still supporting with 18 psi. Like it so far. And the weight penalty is only 40 g compare with old casing so not bad as...

8/20/2026 4:16pm Same here. And not just the lugs, also on the side of tire. Did not see this on DD but only on DH casing.

8/9/2026 9:33pm Has anyone else found the Highroller III to be absolutely terrifying on off camber dusty rocks? I was really liking how this tire was handling blown out and dusty conditions until I took it down some steep and rocky Colorado tech where you have to place the tires on the rocks instead of between them. I think Im going to switch back to and Assegai after that lol

7/29/2026 11:48am @Jason_Schroeder I'd be really interested to get your take on DHX vs. HR3 for summer California conditions. Especially on trails where it quickly changes from hardpack to dust over hard to inches deep moon dust filling invisible ruts and bomb holes.

7/22/2026 1:04pm I put my radial Trail TCs back on after having reverted to HR3 EXO+/ DHR2 DD for a few weeks. Jesus, the squirm/vagueness in the back is sketchy AF. I had forgotten just how weird the radial Trail is in the back. The rear just felt like it was wandering all over when climbing, and then randomly steps out in corners before catching (especially flat corners). Lots of grip, then zero and rapidly sliding, then tons of grip again. For some reason, it doesn't do that on the front for me. It's like the sensation of the dead zone a...

6/16/2026 11:50am Does anyone who runs TC Radial as front has experience in wet? I do not ride much in wet but when I do I love my HR3 and wonder if they are as good as HR3 in wet even tho TC is probably not made for those conditions. Cheers.

4/27/2026 8:01pm Hmmm... tough question. HR3 was my all time favorite before this too. Up front, I think they handle really similarly. I didn't notice any difference in drift on the front leaning into the channel knobs. I think TC brakes a little bit better, and double TC really felt like it rolled faster than my old HR3/Kryptotal Re setup. At the pressures I was running with Grav casing, the casing felt kinda normal except it was really excellent going over roots. There's a couple spots on local trails where there's roots running diagonally across steep corners and they felt like they...

4/27/2026 7:30pm Last question for you. I am also running HR3 and it's my absolute favorite. Would you say TC Gravity Pro is as good or better than HR3? Thanks man

4/21/2026 9:27pm I'm currently testing a DF hub on my Forbidden Dreadnought V2 and will report back with my longterm findings. In short though, yes it works and makes the bike feel much better and more bottomless. It does as advertised by pretty much much isolating the brake forces from drivetrain forces in all but the most extreme cases.

4/13/2026 8:38pm So glad I bought a new Frameworks Enduro frame instead not that I needed any more confirmation than the first ride though. If those geometry numbers are correct then that's pretty sad. Funny though if you added 20mm of stack and a 10mm rear flip chip for rear center length it would be instantly relevant. Ah well.
