No cables, so far less maintenance. No sh*tty cable routing. Less effort on the shifter. More accuracy that remains the same during its lifetime. ... Sorry but I can't find any downside except pricetag.

I love that we have options. I also love swanky rad stuff. Cool to see Shimano doing something new! That said, the (bigger) story to me right now is just how much performance you can garner for very little money. Its rad. 10 years ago there was such a big gap between the top end stuff and the bottom/mid end stuff. These days, I can buy a whole bike (that rips) for slightly more than the price of the XTR group and never once think about "poor shifting performance". Its the Pareto Principal, except it seems to be on steroids...

Yes, lots of boring middle aged white guys (takes one to know one) with mtb youtube channels. But Nate Hills #followcamfriday is 100% legit shredding. He should be included in any rundown of worthy youtubers.

just want to say how much I appreciate this podcast series, fantastic work! Especially getting to know what drives these mtb personalities from all different angles of the industry personally and how they got to be where they are now is super fascinating and creates amazing charactes surrounding the racing scene.

by far the best podcast yet. I think longer is better! Lets get some depth here. We are surround by interesting people in mountain biking. Up to this point a lot of these podcasts felt like ads for the brands or the latest bike coming out. Lets dig deeper!! Great work vital and much love for all that Sven does.
