It's all a drive for me. 20 minutes to good stuff in Laguna. 30 minutes to San Juan. The dream is pedal from the house one day to good dirt, but the dreaming slipping away...

Really? It is so bad to be able to use standard wheel/driver body if you want? And at a lower price? I see, I see, you said 'triggers', which means you mush shift with both hands. That must be so difficult, I know I'd lose my mind as well if I still had to use both thumbs to shift.

Boy this guy is a fun one. With a name like that not sure I'd expect anything else. I'd go with ride more new places more often. These are the rides you'll remember. The 50th time down your second or third most ridden trail start to blur.

What's a deckal? OK, now that the ugly American comment is out of the way....this is interesting. Not sure I'd buy it and put it on my helmet, but I like seeing helmet innovation. Just this morning I was reading a story on NFL guys and all of their head issues, it's so gnarly and sad. Hopefully helmet technology continues...

I like dreaming. And I'm in the game since I dropped 10 large (that's $10) on Powerball last night. I'd build lots of trails all over the country. Easy ones, hard ones, pump tracks, natural, bike parks. This would be the bulk of the spending. IMO trails are a big gateway to getting people riding. I'd sponsor local team and...

Yeah, I don't know. What's the point of needing to shift if you're not pedaling? Plus the chain is moving all the time now. That's more chain/cog wear for an upside that I'm missing.

You mentioned it quick prior, but what's your trail bike set-up of today? I ask anyone I know about this because I'm insecure about my abilities and need any edge I can find from equipment.

I'll be interested in hearing back on this one. It's a good question. I kinda old but remember each new thing - QR seat posts, V-brakes, bar ends, no bar ends, the newest tire - as being innovative at the time. Point is looking back it's easy to say bikes 15, 20 years ago were piles, but technology was moving...

Since we're all dreaming a bit here I'm going for two places. Squamish for the summer - pedal to the trailhead, close to Vancouver, close to Whistler, close to tons of other stuff I have yet to ride. Santa Cruz for the rest of the year - great trails, good food, close to everything you need.
