Correct. I helped lay out the new tune names etc. We had the issue where a M tune on a Super Deluxe did not match the M tune on a Deluxe and that did not match the M tune on VIVID... Also- we had a shock with extra L1, L2, L3 and L4 tunes (in addition to normal L, M and H), they were not spaced evenly and no one could remember if L1 was lighter or heavier than a L2 tune. So we went to numbers that meant something on the dyno. We wanted OEMs to be able to...

Not to mention the lack of information on shocks, shock tunes, suspension kinematics, etc. Hard to make a change if you don't know where you are, where you're going, or how to get there.

Can anyone comment on longevity? Maybe mine is has a defect but the paper seal wiggles out of the Ochain after about a week of use and dirt gets inside it. Rebuilt it three times now after 3 trips, getting extremely bored of it. Everything is installed and torqued correctly so not sure what else to do.
Definitely not the rotors since the issue has persisted with both the Galfer Waves and Sharks. Plus the issue is more that the caliper angle is wrong which is causing contact, rather than overall clearance - if that makes sense? Good find with that adapter! Weird it's listed as +23... I'll give that a try and see if it improves...
Yes I'm aware of this, that's why I ended up making my own adapter specifically for 203-223, but even then with the Mavens the rotor justttt touches the inside of the caliper unless I run washers under the caliper. My Mavens actually only came with the 20P-2 adapter, but the rotor contact was even worse and the wheel wouldn't even...
The way the caliper is contacting the rotor, refacing the mounts wouldn't help since I'd actually need to add material to the lower mount to stop the rotor hitting the caliper with certain adapters. Effectively the rotor edge is too close to the caliper bridge on "entry" and too far on "exit", as if the whole thing is rotated a...
Can anyone here explain what is going on with Fox 40 brake mount geometry? It's driving me insane. Running a 223 rotor. Fox 40 is PM203 so a +20 adapter should work fine right? Wrong. With my Dominions I've now tried adapters from : TRP, Hope, Magura, NSB, Intend, and pretty much anything else I can get my hands on...

Yes just came on here to report this issue today at the bikepark haha. Pumped up too much after a long descent. Even weirder : adjusting the contact the normal way with the small T9 torx would "reset" the lever. Meaning that turning the contact adjuster one way then the other back to the same initial position would somehow restore...

Damn, so I just did this on both my sets. It's a massive difference in feel for just a tiny adjustment, and my one odd feeling lever definitely had the ball further out. I changed all my levers to just barely clear the pivot, like you did, and the ones on my bike with fresher pads feel like Saints now lol. The worn out semi-metallics on the other bike feel more normal, but still much sharper than before.

Made some progress with the Hayes Dominion excessive dead throw issue! For anyone with who's interested, here's the fix : 1. Remove the lever - two torx screws top and bottom, then wiggle it out. 2. Loosen the small grub screw (green arrow). 3. Tighten the ball-head screw as far as you can without it rubbing (red arrow) 4. Tighten...

Interesting that Fox are going the other way and adding more damping with their products. I've heard from tuners that an under-damped fork can mean the tyre rebounds off obstacles without enough damping to control it, and briefly loses contact with the ground, which breaks traction.

"It was concluded that no acute effects on nerve function in the dominant hand were measured after mountain bike cycling on the trail, despite high vibration doses through the handlebars." Am I missing something or does this imply there's nothing to worry about?
I just measured the lever's bite point, did another bleed (lever horizontal with hayes pro bleed kit, zero bubbles) then put the used pads back in and the throw is identical, and matches the other brake that I didn't re-bleed. Seems like the throw is slightly reduced when fitting brand new pads, but as soon as they bed in properly...
