Okay, I've given the inside a wash with soapy water and then a wipe with iso. Was still bubbling away on re-inflation with Stans inside. Will see if it's still inflated in the morning.

So it’s a low leverage rate, with a linear tune, that rides “planted”, but “leaves the ground almost to easy”, but “feels sluggish pumping”, but feels the fun factors of 27.5?

Awesome! I have a soft spot in my heart for this bike. I recall some guy who used to race the Bomb/Trail 66 series had one. Saw him several years later riding Sunday River I think with his kid on the same bike. To this day I'm not sure I've seen a bike that appeared as planted as that thing....Thanks for the warm and fuzzy memories Vital!!

Would have been interesting to then do the same test with mortal piloting the two bikes. You always hear, "Pro X could ride a shopping cart down a hill..." Would a new bike only be slightly faster for us? I don't think so, most of us would probably have a huge gap between the two. Pro's are just amazing at riding the ragged edge.

Two things... 1) Thank you for this! Helps see how the "super official" test could be improved upon. The best test (being its Peaty) would be Fort Bill. That'd be so rad to see!! I doubt that poor wheel would survive however. #fanboi alert...lol 2) Your avatar/handle might be the best on Vital. Lumberg (sp?) approved.

Quick test- when you were racing Kyle, how much harder would you have to work to be 7 seconds faster on a 3.5 minute track? That’s the difference between not qualifying and being in the top 20 on most World Cup tracks.

7 seconds difference is huge to attribute to the equipment. If you look at world cup racing as a game of hundreths of a second, improvements in the bike can be the difference in winning a season or a one off event like world champs. I think that video is a testament that the new bikes ARE SO MUCH better.

have to imagine teams, riders and brands now realize they can milk rumors for social media growth, so they keep cards closer. thankfully we have you steely-eyed sleuths to point out barely visible, lo-res slip-ups on zoomed-in Instagram photos paired with a few eager moles to make them lose sleep at night when something leaks
