Cool idea, well made, well thought out, but man does it seem like a waste of money. I'd love to be proven wrong. You can make a floor stand for the cost of a few 2x6's, some quality 10 min time on YouTube. Doesn't look as pro but neither is my riding. Regarding the wall mount, the best one you can buy (IMO) is the Steady rack for $90 usd. For anyone who's liking the idea of the wall mount bike repair stand, just get a feedback sports bike stand. By the way. I just remembered a very interesting book about structural mechanics that is very intuitive and does not require math at all: https://www.amazon.de/face-failure-nature-engineering/dp/3923704437/ref… I've seen experienced engineers totally drool over it, don't underestimate it just because it has these weird cartoonish pictures and no math. It's written by a German theoretical physist and material failure scientist Claus Matthek, here's his photo, check it out. It's a great present gift too for those interested in engineering or like to build stuff.

I can only tell you what spring you could use to coil-convert a Dorado 36 - it’s the spring from a RS Boxxer with 35mm stantions, and it needs to be custom-cut to a shorter length as it’s a little bit long. Also it tends to feel harder than in a Boxxer - what i mean is, if you have a SOFT Boxxer spring, in the Dorado it will be suitable for someone between 90 and 100kg. An EXTRASOFT Boxxer spring would be suitable for a 75-90kg rider. Speaking from expirience!

Had a chat with a sram guy and he cleared this up for me - big issue with running new chainring and crankset with old eagle cassette is suboptimal chain line, the new chain is also not advised with the original eagle because the oversized roller will wear out the o.g. Eagle significantly quicker.

Absolutely, I agree with all of this. I guess my main point is that as long as the spokes don't over tension or undertension during use, the important thing isnt the tension itself, but what type of spoke it is will determine the wheels characteristic (assuming the same rim)

When I initially mentioned the 'hanging from the top' stance, it of course doesn't mean 'only the top few, all the rest are there just for show'. The system part is the key here and a spoked wheel really is a marvel of engineering considering how strong and light it is. But yeah, apparently the hanging from the top is not that much of a thing. You wont need to worry about the headset routing as The shop will deal with it when they replaced the cracked frame note: ive broken 3 commencals in a year.

There are two Commencal Teams racing EDR Worldcup, the Enduro Project Team is still on last years prototype with TRP Components and normal cable routing. The second team, Commencal les Orres, seams to be on new Frames with new Sram stuff and headset cable routing. There is a bike check on insta that clearly shows the new Frame. I'm quiet sure that this will be the production frame. Maybe the most absurd thing I've ever seen. I'm not against small batch, boutique parts, but anyone spending that money on something so frivilous needs to be audited and forced into buying food for the needy or something.

Yeh that’s right. I’ve been seeing over the summer (our southern summer) that he hasn’t had it on and obviously not on any other athletes it seems this season. Just curious as it seemed targeted as a racing product but the top racers don’t seem to be running it.

I watched the park tool spoke tension video, super super interesting. The whole "hub hangs from the spokes" view of a wheel is totally wrong. Its clear the wheel is a system, and when statically loaded (i.e just standing on the bike) the rim WILL flex at the bottom, dropping spoke tension on those spokes (since the ERD has reduced) BUT, that tension must be accounted for elsewhere in the wheel, hence we see spoke tension INCREASE at the sides (exactly like the coffee cup explanation, kudos to thinking of that). I was trying to find a video of someone destroying a wheel (pulling multiple spokes) to see where it actually fails. Found one: Looks like there is something to the coffee cup thing after all. THe spokes that failed are right next to (behind) the point of impact and the rim cracking. Where's that hat?
