from their site: And honestly, I would have liked a water bottle when in the bike park on more than one occasion.... I don't want it at the expense of performance, but if the room exists wtf not.

They told me that the molds for the DH bikes were inspected and it appeared they could get another 20 frames out of them. They have some spares as well around for existing owners. Assuming it takes off, they could easily do another prototype mold or actually invest in full scale production ones. I suspect they are trying to keep it lean though. If fifty at a time is profitable, no need to go further in this bike market. Especially since it’s really just a marketing piece for their e-bike. The frames are built by VP, which makes a bunch...

Meh, sour grapes from Brook. They didn't do a "Breaking" post for every ride/rider/signing. Get over it. And if you really want people to talk about you win some races or a championship?

R.E Atherton. SM170 (subtracted manufacturing 170). MBUK digested, not an awful lot but a few bit and pieces. Made in Wales, although the lugs not made in house. Presumably contracted out to other company nearby? Reading between the lines tube and component assembly at Atherton HQ. CNC machined lugs. 7075 aluminium. 12 sizes rather than the 23 currently offered (still...

For those without Instagram, first details on the Atherton aluminium AM170. Apparently more info is in MBUK, one of the few print publications still hanging on in the U.K. Unless anyone else gets there first I’ll see if I can have a quick skim through a copy on the shelves later today and see what else is said. One of...

They didn’t mention it, no. Just been out to have a look at my 161 compared to the gen 2. The gen 1 has pretty limited clearance between the top of the shock and the top tube. A longer eye-to-eye shock would be unlikely to fit. Looking at the photos of the gen 2 it does look like there’s significantly...

Yes, there is a new Stumpy (which we can see right now as it's the same as the new Levo SL, sans motor), the new Enduro and if there is a third bike, it's the new 120-ish bike--probably replacing the Epic EVO and Stumpy classic that's in the line right now (130mm bike). The Stumpy has been done and in boxes for a lot time but they've been trying to clear stock of the old ones for well over a year now before releasing. As I've said many times, the Endruo will likely have the lower link design the prototype...

UK based bike reviewer Guy Kesteven said the following a few weeks ago: "It’s 50 years since Mike Sinyard sold his VW camper to buy a bunch of bike parts from Italy and launch Specialized Bicycle Components, so the Californian brand are bound to go big this year. In fact, I’ve already ridden two superb new bikes from them that would reset the benchmarks in their respective categories if they were launched now. They’re not live for a couple of months though and I’ve signed stuff that means I can’t tell you any more at present. One bike that I...

I can’t add much but I met Harriet Harnden and her mechanic at Dyfi a few months ago, got chatting in the uplift truck. She had the Mavens on her Trek Slash. I asked about whether they were what I thought they were and just got a smile and a ‘maybe’ 😂 They’re noticeably ‘beefier’ looking than the Codes, comparable...

Much lighter than it looks. My brother picked up the prototype (we did ask!). Weight was less than my Privateer 161, so towards the lighter end of aluminium enduro frames.
