Precisely. I think a very, very smart move for Forbidden. She’s got a very strong following on the U.K. Instagram/YouTube bike scene (if you’re into that sort of thing). She posts regularly, engagement is high and she comes across as very friendly and approachable. All great attributes for a brand ambassador and it won’t be costing Forbidden much more than...

Neko is like the guy that had the vision quest, and the quest turned prophetic. Amazing that being open and honest, showing passion and hard work culminate in success. However this team turns out, how couldn't you root for frameworks? At a time when companies are closing doors and shutting down support, Frameworks is growing.

Sorry, it certainly wasn't my intention to ignore the second year juniors, that would have been plain rude. Still, I understand why US race fans are getting excited about Asa, it's going to be interesting that's for sure. Mylann Falquet and Lucas Lagneau alongside Hauser should still be figuring amongst the top finishers. They're only going to get faster and I'm sure sure that we'll be seeing a few vastly improve after having a first season of international racing under their belts. That first year can't be replicated as a learning experience.

I just won’t put carbon bars on a bike that I intend to ride. Period. Testing and results and compliance don’t work on my life experience. When a carbon bar breaks: it’s a season ender. Can’t risk it. they do look good from certain angles and really horrible from others. But looks sell and don’t sell everything. Lately I’m into my high ass bars too. So the combos available don’t even come close to aligning with my #stackgoals ……

I don't know about anyone else's feelings, but this kind of setup is a definite negative for my own bike search. I'd most likely (90%+) pass on any bike with an integrated bar/stem.

Bang on I reckon. I don’t think it’s the carbon that makes the Atherton frame so expensive but the process of 3D printing the titanium and then needing to remove from the ‘sprue’ and finish by hand. Designed well, CNC machined lugs should be ready to assemble out of the cabinet, saving a huge amount of time. Combine that with...

I think the biggest difference will be the machined aluminum lugs rather than the 3D printed titanium lugs. Both in terms of material costs and manufacturing times.

Long time lurker but first time poster. Didn’t want to comment but with that photo released the cat is probably out of the bag. That is the Atherton AL170? aluminium prototype at Dyfi. Had a good look back in the summer, was just on an uplift and got talking to one of their trail builders. He was very open about...
@sspomer Long time Inside Line listener, but joined Vital specifically to comment. I saw this a few days ago but the MTB world doesn’t seem to have picked up on it, until now. Thanks for making the post. It’s not very clear, but is this the total demise of BETA, or just the print version? I had my reservations about...
