People on this forum were calling them shit aliexpress copies, but the Aliexpress ones are completely different, ~100 € for a pair, sold under the Onirii brand on Ali and under the Clarks banner in the UK. Those have a monoblock caliper for example. The Lewis variant is not available on Aliexpress (at least it wasn't) and takes a lot of inspiration from the Trickstuff... stuff. And they are more expensive. I said at the time they are different, but I was adamantly told it's the same brake. @ncerni has all of them, the Onirii Aliexpress brakes and the Lewis...

And if you do the math, it's pretty much what you need to preserve the position of the center of mass between the two axles.

Hi. A mate said it would be worth posting this on here. I was out riding in the forest of dean at the weekend with my mates, and spotted a guy riding with some strange ass brakes. I couldn't see cables running up to the bar. I tried to get a quick photo, but this was all I could manage. Maybe ABS or wireless brakes?!

Yeah this was super bizarre, although not that surprising given the platform. The review was pretty accurate but terrible timing when the new version has already been launched and addresses every one of those shortcomings! The problem is people are going to skim the article and think it’s referring to the new one, so it’s straight up terrible journalism. I don’t strictly mind reviews calling out a bad product, but if it’s not even remotely current then it’s either lazy content creation or they have an agenda

MTB forums/comments: Reviewers are industry schills, they never write anything bad about any products. Everyone knows that sucks/is unrideable/will fail and won't get warranty support. Also MTB forums/comments: This reviewer wrote something critical about a product I happen to like, they must be biased against that company. Total hatchet job man!

i'm pretty blown away to have to say this to grown adults (i assume) in our forum, but every time someone trolls or says something you don't like, quoting it and explaining why it's lame/unsavory/kooky/political only makes the thing you dislike live on for days. in the history of the internet, has anyone ever changed their mind and said "you're right," after being challenged/critiqued/criticized/called out in a forum? not that i'm aware of. the garbage has been moderated for now. if you don't like something said here, use the thumbs down, move on, watch it die and it'll be forgotten...
