5/21/2024 11:45am Anybody posted this yet? Saw the serial number of one of those fox live valve shocks and entered it on the ridefox site as a joke

5/21/2024 8:19am Based on comments in the tech rumors thread, not much. The valve is just used as an attachment point and EXT's double valves are in the wrong spots. I'd guess it should be pretty easy to come up w/ a solution...

5/20/2024 12:05pm This is one of the main flaws of the Dominions IMO, the lever throw is way too long and gets longer as the pads wear. It's borderline too long but within reason, I just hate that feeling of useless stroke and the way the lever pull changes so much in the stroke of the lever. Either way, try making sure...

5/19/2024 5:47pm Although I have never found the dead stroke to be as long as you describe it I would recommend pulling the rear wheel out and press the lever a couple of times to get the pistons closer to the rotor. The poor mans contact adjust. It's finicky and takes some patience but could fix your problem. I have done this couple times because I like very little dead stroke, works like a charm.

5/19/2024 5:15am Don’t feel bad! I have been wanting to try them for a while and they may come out a bit on the trail. It’s all good. On FCS yes, I did. The dial makes a difference but the bite point is still longer than I prefer. I am going to ride and rebleed like I usually do then see how...

5/19/2024 5:12am Damm now I feel bad about recommending them. I assume you tried both the full open and full closed setting of the FCS dial ?

5/18/2024 2:19pm Cura 4 w/ FCS: I got these in today. The FCS install was janky as all hell but mainly because my snap ring pliers wouldn't close enough for the snap ring to seat. I managed to get it in, but it wasn't pretty. The lever appears a bit shorter and has a more defined hook on the end than stock...

5/17/2024 8:05am I'm a bit lighter than you but I think once you hit the 210lb mark, you end up with a lot fewer good choices. A lot of people don't really experiment much with brakes either, so people will describe a brake they've used for 8 years as having amazing power but they haven't tried any of the latest gen brakes...

5/17/2024 7:54am I don't want to derail this into a "what brake should I get" thread, but also, what brake should I get? My past three bikes I went from Avid something (pre-SRAM) and they were not great. Then Shimano Zee's and now Shimano SLX 4-pots with Galfer wave rotors (220/200) and (usually) Galfer pads on a RM Slayer 29. They've been reliable and easy to use and pretty good and I'm a big fan of having a short pull and there hasn't really been much to complain about. That said, it's time to upgrade. Kitted up, I typically weigh 120kg-ish, they've...

5/17/2024 7:38am All the newer TRP DHR EVOs come with longer push rods now and the longer push rods are available to purchase for older DHRs. They allow the lever to be adjusted all the way to the grip if desired. I believe it was a quiet running change and is part #6 below https://trpcycling.com/products/dh-r-evo-lever-small-parts

5/16/2024 6:06am Looks like an effort to get the lever closer to the bar? Most people running DH-R Evos seem to run the lever further out for whatever reason, this looks like you can bring it in closer. No personal experience though, just an observation.

5/15/2024 8:18pm That's good feedback, thanks. I ordered both the 2 and 4s to try out with Trickstuff pads. I'll offer some impressions when I get them on. Ironically, getting the oil shipped from CO is taking longer to get here than the brakes coming from Germany. They seem somewhat polarizing. Like you said it's hard to define what "power" is because...

5/15/2024 8:05pm They indicated this would void your warranty. The original system would mount to a coil single crown using double sided tape, but I think something more elegant may be possible for forks that leave a 5-10mm gap at full compression. You could probably 3d print it to offset to the side and tape in place so it stays straight, there...

5/15/2024 4:09pm I've got Dominions on the E-bike and Cura 4's on the DH bike. The Cura 4's don't do anything wrong to me, and while it's all personal, I find the lever feel decent. The power ramps up in a linear fashion, more pull, more stop. They just don't stop as hard as the Dominions in my opinion. Which engage quicker and seem to provide more power for a given amount of finger pressure. Despite the bike weight more, I can ride longer before finger fatigue sets in with them. I've got a set of Direttissima's where the rear caliper has...

5/15/2024 11:46am Thanks, glad it's not just me getting that low. When I got them, the guy at the shop says he ran closer to 30 PSI with them, maybe he was talking about the DH tires. My first ride on these was during a particularly wet day with a lot of off camber, wet roots that were very slick and I...

5/15/2024 11:34am I mounted up a set of the new Michelin E-Wild enduro Front tire's - without inserts, started at 25 PSI and they were rock hard, dropped to 23 and same, went to 21 and started to feel a bit more manageable but still really firm. For comparison I have been running Michelin DH22's at 25PSI without inserts and 21-22 PSI with Rimpact V2 inserts and the new wild enduro's felt significantly stiffer than the DH22's at any of the pressures I ran. They do roll significantly faster than the Dh22's which was a nice surprise.

5/14/2024 8:30pm I can't speak to the performance difference with or without Refrigerators, I ran them full time. The Refrigerators don't work like normal pad fins, though, they seat into the area around the piston. No rattling or noise, but they do pop out at times when you are working on the brakes. They remained in place and quiet the entire time...
