4/16/2025 9:24am please don't respond about geo to this (or even respond at all), but just FYI, you can easily compare bikes and their geo in our product guide. here's a quick one i put together between a dreadnaught, firebird and sb165 - new bikes are being added all the time. https://www.vitalmtb.com/product/compare/64471,64876,50471?sizes%5B%5D=…

4/12/2025 8:24am Don't know anything about the Megatower, but 2026 colours and builds have been released. The newest gen 2025 Hightower was released in September 2024, so if I had to guess the new Mega would be released during the second half of 2026. I have the current Mega and it's a sweet bike.

4/11/2025 1:32pm As somebody who's tested this variable back to back on the same chassis (not two totally different forks), the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. Maybe we need to do a fork stiffness deep dive like the excellent frame compliance analysis Burney did. But in short, forks also have roll and wag. Everyone usually thinks of only wag and they test it with the wheel between the legs, but I'd argue this is only a valid indicator of stiffness during full braking on dry pavement. In this situation, the hex axle can offer a small benefit in reducing wag, but in...

4/11/2025 1:31pm Possibly related, in the recent MBR video about the new Levo, there is this foam model next to the one of the designer's desks: In the (possibly relevant) rendering above the models, it looks to be a bike with a single crown:

4/9/2025 9:01am Speeding cars are normally caught by speed cameras or cops with radar guns, doubt that there are going to be cops on trails checking the bikes. The fact that bikes have speed restriction and cars do not is a puzzle in this day and age.

4/3/2025 2:32pm Wireless droppers seem like a huge compromise. Longer overall length for the same drop as the market leading cable posts but the advantage of one less cable. I think I will stick to the cable post thanks.

4/3/2025 12:53pm Why would you trade a 200 OneUp for a 175 mm Reverb? It makes no sense to me that losing 2.5 cm of drop, having a battery I can hit my knees on, and spending $$$ is worth getting rid of a cable.

3/31/2025 2:43pm Do temps of mountain bikes shocks really matter, when you can just tune it for a given temperature range? If you know during a DH run your shock will be in the 40-55C range, just tune it for that range. Its not like thats outside the envelope of what suspension oil can handle. Anyways, ignore what I said above, I'm developing a new product thats a Graphene additive to your suspension fuild that makes it 28.99% more tempurature stable, which in real life testing improves your suspension performance by at least 1 place on the poduim, even if you're not...

3/31/2025 11:16am The only hint I've seen is on the mud guard page, it shows the current version is for 2025 and earlier. https://ridefox.com/products/fox-fork-mud-guard?variant=47160513200352

3/31/2025 10:35am This information is on one of the 46 pages you haven't read yet. In all seriousness, I don't recall seeing any information regarding the 38... but I guess I could of missed it too.

3/30/2025 4:13pm We all the know the new Firebird is slated to be released soon. From what I heard today, it looks very similar to the outgoing model with small geo adjustments here and there. It will also come with internal storage.

3/25/2025 5:10pm What is the purpose of these holes? The 36 shares similar design cues to the 34 SL, especially on the arch. Fox claims an additional 17% torsional stiffness due to this arch design on the 34 SL - will the new 36 see an increase in stiffness as well? It's already a fairly stiff fork for most users/applications.

3/25/2025 3:50pm not gonna lie they look slick like this arch more than the round one on the previous gen but it might just be new and shiny syndrome

3/23/2025 6:09pm For what it's worth it looks like Richie Rude runs EX1700 on his enduro bike and the FR1500s on his downhill bike, both are 30 mm in width, which I guess comes down to additional stiffness. I'm sure a guy like him could feel the difference between them, but unlikely that many of us can. These top guys are also...

3/18/2025 2:40pm This is wild. I'm 6 feet on the dot, and my new bike came with a 170 mm dropper. I rode it nine times before my 210 was delivered. The 170 functioned as it should - went up and down - but it was getting in the way of how I ride and maneuver a bike. A few years back...

3/17/2025 10:11am I've always been wary of buying anything bike-related on Amazon. The only thing I do buy is tools because of how seldom I use them although their tolerances aren't amazing. On the topic of pads, has anyone here tried sintered Koolstop pads? They are significantly cheaper than Shimano pads/Galfers/other big brands.
