Secondfavteacher Added a reply to Tire chat (nerds only)
2/26/2025 12:21pm This is exactly what I'm going for. I want the front to be a bit more damped and "tracky", while the motivation for a lighter casing rear tire is to save some weight. I get along really well with the feeling of a MaxxGrip Exo+/cushcore combo. I have in the past found cushcore with a heavier casing tire to feel...

2/25/2025 5:53pm I have read every comment in this thread... and I still concluded that Maxxis is hard to beat for overall riding (especially when they're fresh). Because I'm cheap and won't buy tires to test them, the number of comments saying that the increase in PSI of the new radial tires feels "pingy" is a complete non-starter. The only tires that...

2/13/2025 5:33pm He was asked about his early days on Fox and said it's going fine, no comment on the brakes but he's still ripping it up. I know we all get used to our setups but how challenging is it for pros to get acclimatized? I am a consistent Shimano brake user (as is my bite point) but have hopped on...

1/24/2025 9:06am Finally, with sunglass ports, I rule out any helmet without them. Hoping the Smith Forefront 3 will be released soon.

1/20/2025 9:35am @sspomer would it be possible to get a link-checker integrated? "Thanks for your post, the link you are including has been posted 37 times in the last 2 weeks on pages X, Y, Z...., are you sure you want to post it again?"

1/11/2025 9:08am Danny also didn't list brakes in his list of sponsors at about 1:10 in his vlog—he mentions frame, suspension, tires, cockpit, and wheels. Maybe he's on Hope and they don't want him to talk about it? Maybe he's on TRP and couldn't get them for the build?

12/31/2024 2:25pm Edit: I should really refresh before posting Remi Gauvin off Rocky Mountain, not too surprising given their recent financial woes. Remy Metailler no longer with Camelbak and ethirteen. He’s technically not on a team but brands must get more value out of (pro) influencers then most racers?

10/25/2024 8:53am I've heard that the next Shimano drivetrains are supposed to be 13 speed. Both the mechanical and Di2 versions.

10/23/2024 11:46am Chainring clearance on the frame right? Frame manufacturers are wanting to make stays wider at the frame or main pivot, so the Chainring has to move out.

10/23/2024 10:29am I really hope that's not the case. The angles created are just not ideal in any way. Why would Shimano need to do it?

10/23/2024 10:03am Re: upcoming Shimano updates—I’ll be very curious to see whether they follow SRAM’s lead on pushing the cassette outboard for a 55mm chainline. I wish SRAM hadn’t done it to begin with, but now that the toothpaste is out of the tube, everyone else kind of needs to do it too, no?

10/23/2024 9:35am I really dislike that 95% of size L's have a 475mm Reach and XLs have a 500m reach. The bikes need to offer 10mm of reach adjust for those of us in between. That said, the new Sentinel looks like an ideal AM rig to my eyes.

10/23/2024 7:27am Pretty sweet looking bike. If I didn't already open up my wallet for a Megatower this would be in the running. Stays are a bit on the long side, but I'm loving everything else.

10/22/2024 7:13am New Sentinel tomorrow, not sure how much is changing, but in-frame storage will be there. There may also be another model, potentially the Scout?

10/19/2024 5:28pm I asked ChatGPT what Sesame Seed was talking about and to be okay with being brutally honest and distasteful if it wants. Enjoy: This comment seems to be a convoluted attempt at drawing parallels between professional bike racing and motorsports, particularly Formula 1, but it’s a jumbled mess of loose associations and misplaced terminology. Let’s break it down brutally: 1. Chain Drive Skepticism : The commenter kicks off with skepticism about recent changes to bike racing due to “chain drive,” but gives no real details or context for what exactly they are skeptical about. It feels like they are grasping...
