The only thing cooler than this is the raw aluminum team frames that Gwin and Blenki were on in 2009

God I love Turners, would be cool to see him bring back the 5 spot but I’m not holding my breath for anymore turner suspension bikes.

I'm still convinced these don't do anything and the Specialized/Ohlins engineers are just trying to let him feel like he has some agency in bike setup

f.i.t.nj Liked a comment about Feature Winning Bike - Frida Ronning's Trek Session

If I remember correctly Trek didn’t go with the highest/most aggressive pivot and idler placement. They actually still have some pedal kick/chain influence through the travel. So I guess the Ochain cancels the rest of that out without having the drawbacks of the higher pivot in terms of growing rear center. I think the Session’s total rear axle movement is quite small compared to a Forbidden or the last gen Supreme.

Your original question is sort of like when I ask the dentist "What's more important, brushing or flossing?" Dentists hate that question because both actions work together as a system. What's funny is I typically get different answers. They really hate the question and some dentists refuse to answer it entirely, but when pressed some dentists will tell me flossing is more important and others tell me brushing. Obviously, neither is sufficient on its own. Same with suspension. All the elements do different things and all the elements work together to create the end result. And you didn't even mention...

TEAMROBOT Liked a reply to forum topic If You Could Change One Current MTB Standard...

1/30/2024 10:45am
SO HARD TO PICK Headset cable routing dies forever. Passing a law that all stems and handlebars have to be two-piece on new bikes (you can buy your stupid one-piece bar/stem combos aftermarket if you want them so bad). All mountain bikes run a 73mm BSA BB. Downhill bike engineers, see next bulletpoint if you're worried about chainlines. One front and rear axle standard for all mountain bikes. It could be 15x110 and 12x148 and it would be amazing. It's easy to build downhill forks with too much torsional stiffness (see: OG Fox 40), so you don't really need a...

Jason_Schroeder Liked a reply to forum topic Is it the Bike or the Rider?

It's 95% the rider. Case in point: Jackson won World Cups his first-year Elite on the new V10, while Greg struggled all year to find a good setup. Or for you Moto fans: Chase Sexton battled with the Honda the past two years, while Jett Lawerence moved up to 450s over the summer and went 22-0. I've watched plenty of really talented riders hop on different bikes and go really fast. Shit, Dakotah beat me on a Morpheus multiple times. The sweet sauce is understanding setup, having resources (like the ability to evolve a bike to match one's style), and...
