1. do we believe they are going to have two separate bikes (this seems like a long shot) 2. or can you run the cables either way depending on your preference, this would make for a cool litmus test. (again, I think that bike looks great with the cables tidy like that) 3. I'm unsure how to feel about the exchange. Our current society has a confidence in their own singular opinion that sometimes catches me off guard. Im both astounded and worried that the feedback loop can sometimes be both to quick, and flexible, but here we are

TEAMROBOT Liked a reply to forum topic Crank length/bb height . Is shorter/lower the future?

Short cranks are huge in the road/tri/track world right now for that exact reason, and not just for mere mortals. Bradley Wiggins is as close to an immortal as they come, and he sized down from 177's to 170's and then 165's for the last Olympics to get more aero. He said opening up his hips allowed him to drop his front end by 30mm, which has an enormous effect on aerodynamics. I think that getting your bars lower won't be a big selling point for mountain bikers who aren't racing cross country, because most enduro/trail/downhill riders run relatively high...

I don't think it's necessarily about knowing how to pedal or not, it's about bike-body fit and opening up options. If someone feels more comfortable spinning a smaller circle and gets to approach features with a wider range of spots to fit a half-pedal in, it seems like a valuable change to investigate! Not to mention lowering the likelihood of getting stripped off your bike by a well camouflaged rock hiding in the grass/leaves.

Well I didn’t read everyone’s post so there may be some redundancy in this but hey, here’s your warning. I think there is such thing as too low for a BB, especially for longer wheel bases because there will eventually be a moment that you will high center the heck out of something and ruin your day. That said, short...
It’s cool to hear how stoked he is on riding after stepping away. Not to imply a bike shop career is anything close to a racing career, but having stepped out of the bike shop after 14 years, I’m more stoked on my own riding than ever and I really feel like removing the “bikes are work” aspect brought me back to a place I hadn’t been at in a while. These podcasts are great, thanks for keeping them coming!

Troy from west MI. Just getting into the sport. Planning to replace running with mountain biking. Just got an upgraded mid 90’s (I think) GT All Terra Tempest with RockShox fork. Any info on those is appreciated. Thanks!

Would be cool to do a video testing the basic idea of this with an uncut steerer tube. I feel like I’d loose the front end a lot with my bars that high.

And the not so subtle $300 headset bearing swaps that come with them, I just can’t see a reason for it other than making things look clean? If someone can explain the functionality of it I would happily get schooled…

Read in the pinkbike comments that the new SRAM Maven brakes will be mineral oil. Interesting

Americans are funny, you can have the Nascar Freedom Jesus 500 sponsored by NRA , big pharma and like Busch light and people will say that this is acceptable and more than ok for kids/role models, while "porn" or weed (remember when JD Swanguen got a ban from racing due to having weed in his system?) are still seen as big bad evil and will corrupt the mind of your young teens.

OnlyFans have been trying to change for a while and even announced a ban on adult content at one point. The backlash was so quick and loud that they had to reverse the decision. Their quest is not altruistic though, they want an IPO and the only way they will get it is by breaking the association with adult content. Back to the subject of LB specifically, the UCI is headed by a bunch of rich white guys (I am one as well) who are embarrassed/upset by women taking control of their sexuality(I am not one of those). The historical...

Damn, that was real quick. Love the "aghhh" when he crosses the line and hears he's in second. Think it's gonna be a good year for team Intense.

Just got a couple of new shots of Dak's bike from Windrock as it hangs in the stand. Not sure how different it is (if at all) compared to what we've seen before. Any thoughts? (Figure I'd do a separate post instead of have it buried in the tech rumors forum)

That’s great to hear! I didn’t handle the process myself so I’m sure it’s probably sitting in a to do pile.

It's a significant step (or many steps) from the TR12. The shift paddles feel very comfortable and intuitive. We look forward to the long term test.
