For those who are worried about the track being too smooth, I *promise* the holes are coming back. It's one of the steepest tracks on the circuit, there are unlimited nasty rocks and roots hiding under the fresh dirt, and the dirt on that hill is loose, dry, and unstable. Once they dump 250 racers on the track for three days of practice, quali's, semi's, and finals, the holes will come. After all the talk (complaints) about how gnarly VDS was last year, adding dirt in many sections feels like an appropriate and necessary response. I'd bet it still changes a lot and roughens up through the weekend, especially with some rain. Also 100% down with the addition of a few shitty, awkward corners. That's what DH needs to separate people as we continue to trend towards fast/straight tracks. So stoked for this weekend!

And the internally routed telemetry wiring on the Saracen is pretty trick. I’ve seen some cool routing set ups for electric road drive trains on custom bikes, pretty cool to see it in the DH world.

That Atherton rig is so sick! I'd love to see inside more team setups. I remember in 2017 I was pitting out of a rental van in Andorra, and I had to deliver some 100% goggles to Specialized. When I walked inside their truck Finn and Loic were playing Xbox in a lounge area before practice. I then went back outside and cut my spikes in the rain before I had to go ride the same practice haha

How much travel front and rear does this have? I assume 204mm out back but the fork looks like maybe 180mm? As I recall, this is one of the first generation of modern-looking downhill bikes, with long travel, properly fat tires, full chainguides, and big disc brakes.

If your running shorter cranks to reduce rock strikes, then lowering the bb for some reason, aren't you just going to be striking you cranks as much as before as well as smashing you bash guard/chain ring more? Seems like your taking a step forward and 2 back......

asa vermette's winning run from DHSE. gonna be rad to see this kid on the WC circuit (and we get to watch for free on youtube) so i signed up for discovery+ last week b/c XC will be here soon enough and bonus was that i got battlebots and house hunters. things could be worse HAHA
