Just out of curiosity, could you give more details on the Intense cracked frames you've owned? I've have owned 3 Intense bikes so far. M9 Fro, M29 and a Primer 29. Only my Primer broke. But that was solely on me. Big crash and the bike fell out sky and the seat stay smashed against a sharp edge bolder. Broke a rib too. Even broken, I still rode it home. And Intense made it super easy with their crash replacement program. Not trying to up sale Intense cycles (Truth be told, I do love their frames). Just honestly curious. If...

Frame weight 5 pounds lighter than the alum Trek Fuel that just released? This bike looks good.

"Titanium hardware"? That's a super random detail. The 2018 Intense Primer 2019 was my first carbon full sus bike, never had a single issue with it. I'm still using the free carbon wheels that came with it in the promotion, and the sweet torque wrench kit they included. Would definitely buy again, but I'm more interested in the new Spider right now.

The trail bike category is probably where most people go shopping for a Goldilocks do-it-all bike, although the same could be said for the enduro category. With 150mm of travel and a generally light build, the Primer is Intense’s answer for those looking to cover some miles and enjoy themselves on the way down. The Primer was quietly updated for 2025, and we’ve had this new version out on the trails for about a month to help you figure out what it is and what it isn’t. 2025 Intense Primer 29 Highlights Full carbon fiber front and rear triangle...

It would be cool if there were 'homologation' frames- such that after a prototype grace period ends, Mondraker, Specialized, Norco could all release 10 frames. Unpolished products built for unapologetic speed, at unobtanium prices. SR Suntour did it with Pidcock's electronic suspension for 5k per set.

I have little to contribute to the discussion of Intense as a business, but I am happy to inform you that footage of Matti's tomahawking bike is still around.

I only worked there for about a year and a half, but I’ve known the brand and the people for a long time. And yeah, I tend to agree—it might’ve been exaggerated. Kinda like that rumor about Lopes always parking crooked in his van because someone snapped a pic a couple times... and now it’s gospel lol. Point is, I knew how many frames were made and sold during my time there. I wasn’t in warranty or CS, but I was close enough to the crew to see what was going on. It wasn’t like frames were flying out the...

The stories about QC and warranty issues with Intense frames are as old as the brand. However, not many have stats on it, all rumors. I am not saying that this is not true, but maybe wildly exagerated. I own 40+ Intense frames and only one has slight tension when you assemble the swingarm and main frame (maybe 3-5 mm offset at the upper link). Different LBS that carried Intense and that I shopped from had low rejection or warranty rates. One snapped 951 rear triangle at the yoke (heavy rider, undersprung bike), one frame came with bad paint. In...

Intense never used SAPA in Portland, OR. They had their own, in-house production line in CA. AFAIK did Santa Cruz and Turner use SAPA for a while.

Go look at the new Spider! Best looking bike out rn other than the Rallon. Gearboxes in the world cups too. Their design does not feel outdated to me.

The years is 2043.... All work cup racers are either on Commencal, Santa Cruz or Frameworks, with Bruni still racing a single Specialized, the 87th iteration of "The Proto" I've always had a soft spot for Intense. An M1 was the first real DH bike I ever laid eyes on and I had an old Tazer FSR as a trail bike at one point when I was a kid. The 2017ish Tracer is still one of my favorite bikes I've owned as well. I do feel like they were back and forth the last few years with getting their mojo...
