There something to be said about the DH rigs from the mid 2000 era. The Giant DH Teams, Iron Horse Sundays, Intense M3 & M6s, Yeti’s 303, BMW Race Link, etc, etc. I’m restoring a 2005 Square tube Turner DHR at the moment. Just cause it was one of the bikes I loved years back. They can’t hold a candle to what’s out there today. But they’re still rad on there own.

Broke a stay as in sheared it in half? or it broke at the pivot? I've seen one of these bikes get dropped off a cliff in Utah and come out with just a few scratches, I've seen another got 20ft to flat and all that broke was the seat stem (not the frame) from the rider landing on it so hard, and I've seen another come up short (lawn dart style) on an over-rotated backflip, ejecting the rider and leaving the bike in one piece. So that's where I'm coming from, doesn't mean other people haven't had differing experiences...

This could become a new thing for MTB. There's lots of beautiful bikes from the past that could do with more reach and better angles. Clever people.

They forgot to add "People DON'T have $5000 to build a new bike every time someone decides to change a standard" into there pie chart. The constant changing of industry standards is getting to be a bit much now.
