3/29/2024 8:52am So incredibly true. I’m all for the excitement of tinkering and bracketing to find out what works best for me but there is definitely a point where focusing on being a better rider will make you way faster than focusing on the mm’s of a frame or what new incremental changes are coming to X part. What sucks is when the opinions of people who have never ridden the thing they have an opinion on drive trends. Just look at the Pinkbike comments or even this forum to find self proclaimed engineers who apparently know what’s best vs the company...

3/28/2024 12:45pm You'd all be better off doing pushups, squats in the gym or actual training drills on the bike than worry about 10mm in reach For a 10mm reach increase on a 1250mm wheelbase (445 chainstays) we're talking about a change in weight bias of 1.81 to 1.83 or or 1.1% so for a 80kg rider an increase of approx 1kg of rider weight on the bars to support. I doubt anyone in a double blind could tell the difference of 10mm reach between bikes. I'd wager you start to notice at 20mm plus

3/28/2024 12:42pm So many comments recently with people being overly pedantic about reach numbers. (Not just here). 10mm is literally nothing. Swap a 50mm and 40mm stem , get narrower or wider bars, try a different back sweep. Get thinner or thicker grips, bar roll stem spacers, adjust your cleat position etc. H ell, the hand position difference between single collar lock on grips and double collar probably changes your torso position as much. Reach is just one aspect of bike fit. Writing something off because the reach isn't exactly a perceived magic number by 10mm without trying it is very close...

3/27/2024 8:07am Robert from The Loam Wolf here. I was the one who broke the Scalpel, and I’m not surprised I did - overshot the landing of a large jump for an XC bike, landing in the pocket between the landing and the flat ground after it. Huge bottom out. I corrected Kaz at Pinkbike’s quote - he had flatteringly guessed me to be 190lbs, whereas I am 220lbs. Nothing fishy. I wholeheartedly believe the Scalpel is fit for purpose and that it was my fault! Was having far too much fun and got carried away.

3/24/2024 8:04am I love gold the look of it the taste of it the smell of it the texture. I love gold so much that I even lost my genitalia in an unfortunate schmelting accident.

3/22/2024 2:49pm The woods will have the Leogang vibe in the wet though, if you know what I mean, so it's better not wet on a race day
I remember riding this before they started building this track and this was a time I decided to buy a 38mm fork
Literally my Lyrik could not handle braking and the 65ha was definitely too steep for it. I happen to live in the area, so if anyone is coming and needs some trails advice (and at least 50% are not "official") can hit me on priv.

3/8/2024 3:06pm They could've excluded the being a Ford Bronco ambassador part, it's superfluous. She's a good rider that competed at the top level, no need to boast her credentials with her other sponsors; unless, it is part of her Bronco sponsorship....

3/5/2024 3:23pm Contis are pretty solid. Have good grip and side walls are bomb proof. Kryptotals front and rear in downhill casing with soft compound should be money!

3/1/2024 2:05pm I've been looking forward to the updates to the Wild Enduro. Nice middle ground between the previous regular version, and the previous Racing Line. Interesting that you didn't get a chance to try the MH on the front though, living in Phoenix, I think that is the route I would go. Maybe an MH/MH combo?
