3/16/2026 6:56pm As a fellow V2 Druid owner, it does not seem that the 2.5 Tacky Chan is as tall as a Albert. Mounted to a 30mm internal RF Era. I'd run it in the dry, but in the mud it could be problematic. Conversely, my wife runs a 25mm internal rim in the rear of her V2 Druid and her 2.5" Albert never had clearance issues.

3/16/2026 6:55pm That's good to hear, I had no problems with the 2.4s but the Albert buzzes often. Any comment on the rolling compared to the OG?

3/16/2026 4:27pm I've got HR3/DHR2 on in PNW with similar conditions. It's good for all of that and probably my fav Maxxis front at the moment.

3/15/2026 10:31pm 2.5 eh.. If its the same casing size as the Albert that'll be no bueno for me on the Druid rear in 29. 😑

3/11/2026 9:02am You can downgrade the firmware to use stunlocker , etc pretty easily without the dealer dongle. I had to do it twice, once to correct for mullet wheel size, and again because Shimano sent me an RMA motor with EU firmware. 🤮Otherwise it won't net you much gains. You can cheat the wheelsize for more mph but the juice isn't...
I took the neg. spacer out of my 38 M.2, the difference was pretty minor. Personally I would prioritize the compression tune since I always found anything more than 1 click from full open HS to be way too harsh.

3/9/2026 9:25pm Nah, the tire stash is healthy but I'd love to get back on a TC.

3/4/2026 9:57am The open tread pattern of the TC brakes better on loose as well. TC is a better match for a MM front overall in my book. I also like the TC on the front but you need to be more attentive of the transitional gap especially on hard pack.

3/4/2026 9:50am Radial casing compliance and feel, for me at least. The albert radial rolls pretty well but the side knobs peel and squirm too much when leaning the bike over on the front for my taste. The MM radial is a slow roller but has a more stout side knob for front wheel cornering traction on lean. Tacky chan tread pattern looks like the best of both worlds- fast rolling, sturdy side knobs.

3/1/2026 7:05am 8,000+ km's on a Druid V1 and 2,000 km's on a Dreadnought V1, PNW based riding. Druid was the second XT build to land in Canada. It has had the main pivot and linkage bearings replaced twice, the bearings in rear triangle and main frame have been replaced once. Have gone through an OEM and NSB aluminum idler (on a SS one now). Also had to replace the bolt that connects the shock yolk/rate link together as it had worn enough to have play. The "crunch" zone between the seat tube/rear triangle causing gouging sucked until they offered a hunk...

3/1/2026 7:04am Considering that we've got the Marz Shiver, the Manitou Dorado, and the Rockshox RS-1, the statement is completely stupid whatever way you want to swing it.
