Gave the Romy another try as a rear. Gravity pro, soft casing. There is very noticeable break down on the side knobs and braking edges after one 25 mile ride; at this rate it will be completely toast in under 100 miles. Super disappointed, I won't be buying another Schwalbe at least for the rear for the foreseeable future...

If you zoom on your phone you can see the boost bro tread pretty decent. Modified and rotated center knobs on a 2-2-2 pattern and the side knobs are very consistent similar to a reshaped assegai. I’m Thinking edge like a minion rolled over but with way less transition space so most riders don’t get as scared from the “wow I’m still not grabbing” long as hell to engage float - less float before hooking into that wonderful edge. Should be a really fun and probably significantly faster than assegai, but still have that heavy DHF leant over hold.

I think calling what that guy did a garage bodge job is insulting to both that user's ingenuity and craftsmanship and as well as garage bodgers everywhere, who would view that as far too sophisticated.

I think I'm done with Schwalbes on the rear of my ebike. I got 4 weeks out of this one at ~15,000' vert per week. Soft is fine for my pedal bike which only gets 1/5 that much distance.

I felt the answer about the price was a little weird. They're not trying to recoup any costs, so they're implying it's a construction/materials thing that makes the price. Again, 350s on a bike of that price doesn't sound like it's a spec choice, and hearing that price isn't a reflection of R&D just makes it raise the question further; Where on earth is this price coming from if NOT R&D and pro-team economics? It certainly isn't the spec. Loved the video otherwise, thanks a ton Jason.

What are people running for summer trail tires? I just switched to a Dissector V2/Forekaster Exo+ combo. Thoughts: I forgot how good Maxxgrip is when its new. I was definitely getting squirrely off of the lips of jumps for the first few runs - I'd gotten so used to the radial front that my brain had to recalibrate. I was pretty confident on the dissector right away. No vague handling characteristics, no washouts, solid cornering in dry/loose conditions. Curious to see how the forekaster holds up in the rear.

Thank you to whoever recommended the High Roller for Colorado trails. This might be my new favorite front tire.

MaxxTerra High Roller 3 would be great for the e-bike crowd. Race tires are cool, but e-bike tires are (I’m guessing) what pays the bills.
