3/6/2025 8:02pm Oh my god no. I found my Hydras to be reasonable when we'll greased, but I've been happily on Onyx for two years now.

2/26/2025 8:45am More details from OneUp: At OneUp, we are committed to providing the best possible products and customer service for our riders. As part of this, we are issuing a product improvement and running change notice for our recently introduced Clip Pedals. We have received information from our customers that in rare and specific conditions, certain riders may experience difficulty unclipping from the pedal. Whether a rider experiences this issue depends on a combination of several variables, including the type of shoe, the brand of cleat, cleat position and technique. Many riders will never experience this issue. Nevertheless, we have developed...

2/25/2025 6:52pm OneUp releasing a revised contact plate for their new Clip Pedal. On the one hand, good on them for addressing an issue quickly. On the other hand... really seems like something that should have been caught before the product launch.

2/24/2025 5:15pm always surprises me how bad Mucc-off products do in Tests considering how they always have a big stand display in shops. The only thing I found of their products worth buying is the 'bike protect' can's.

2/24/2025 11:43am Yes both Sram & Shimano higher tier chains last significantly longer. In terms of durability, using XO1/XX1 or XTR chain are more cost effective than running lower tier chain. Zero Friction Cycling tested XX1/XO1 and GX and found the XO1 to be the most cost effective: https://zerofrictioncycling.com.au/chaintesting/ The same is usually true also for Sram Cassette between GX and XO1 because of the better coating on the XO1 cassette versus GX. But Shimano cassette in terms of durability vs cost favor the SLX for 12 speed group since it has only the largest gear in alu while XT have the...

2/23/2025 11:11am i can argue in the long run Hope is the best bang for buchk, shigura is dogshit, if the master leaks it goes in the bin, levers are made of cheese so every couple crashes you need a new one, if something happens to the caliper side you can't service that one either, so no, definitely not good value

2/22/2025 4:39pm people missing the part that Brage is scrubbing the speed..... When sponsored... you tend to make do with what you have. Pretty much every single person i've spoken to who have changed away from shimano to brands from TRP, SRAM to trickstuff all enjoy how much better they are than shimano. Shimano have the benefit of being easy to setup...

2/20/2025 8:48am The looks so bad. Who the hell wants a battery penis on their seat post. All this because some frame manufacturers cant figure how not to slam the rear wheel into the seat post on big compressions

2/19/2025 4:58pm Enough with the chainstay and transmission discussion - We have something else to scold Sram for. Some really clear pics from ESMTB of the electric dropper we discussed about a few pages back. I see why they did it, but it still looks terrible. But having the battery be a part of the collar, probably greatly decreases the stack height of the whole dropper, which is positive at least. https://esmtb.com/asi-es-la-canyon-lux-world-cup-cfr-de-jenny-rissveds-…

2/19/2025 1:21pm Yup Meta V4 and V5/V5 SX, they still have clevis extensions and using a longer 230mm shock means there is less tolerance to extra length than something like a stumpjumper or Levo which uses a 210 shock. And its the usual suspects - DHX2's snap eyelets but also the occasional old Super Deluxe or Bomber CR (alloy shafts). Float X2's leak air or suck air in to the damper even faster, and the older X2's crack front eyelets - I had one X2 eyelet that was halfway to cracking clean off in a V4 Meta! It's just bad design -...

2/19/2025 12:26pm Lewis just posted a video the other day saying he (and everyone else who got a Meta V5 and V5 SX) got an email saying - essentially - they've figured out what caused the creaking and it was from a specific batch of bikes. If you contact them they'll send you the thing you need to fix it permanently. He mentions it in the second half of a video talking about cracking his V10. He also mentioned in a comment that he liked the Meta V5 and should have gone with the SX for his use case. It's interesting how...

2/19/2025 10:30am the problem is, chainstay length effects suspension curve, alot as it increases leverage, The rocky mountain was a good example, it rode like a lazy sheep in long but then was stiff because you had to run the bike stiffer - surely corner balance was better but no racer etc ever ran the actual long setting.

2/18/2025 4:34pm Exactly, which Is why i referenced my own height an not others, i had a cheeky dig at bikes being small with my first comment which obviously had some effect haha. I was all about 470-480 reach etc untill i tried a Merida one sixty and it changed my perspective massively, It was nimble but also stable, It turns on...

2/18/2025 1:28pm Make sure you torque the barb/olive to correct torque and dont use the sram bleed kit. the bit that goes into the lever leaks air. I've installed probably 30 pairs of mavens and I've not had one come back with issues. p.s make sure you piston masage with HARD lever pulls and BEFORE!!!!! bleeding, Also Rotate the bike upwards with...
