Yup, and I appreciated the review. It's an xc thing for now, that's for sure. They can benefit from it, and xc racers are weird so they'll happily pay. They're already paying some shady doctor more than this for their EPO, so it's a good value. For aggressive recreational riders, meaning most of us, this is a no-go for now even if you're loaded enough to drive a 4x4 Sprinter conversion van. Anything that makes jumping more dicey that it already is get's a big "hell no!". I'm sure they'll get it dialed in time. That will really suck because...

In motorized vehicles this is amazing, (and not completely new). In bicycles, I think the big thing we still have to get over is this... "The system can be slightly inconsistent when preloading for a bunny hop, jump, or other trail feature. Depending on the terrain leading up to a feature, the suspension will either already be open if it's rough or it will be closed if things are smooth." They will crack that one, too, and I'd even wager you could select a "map" for a particular stage/trail where its less aggressive or more aggressive with respect to opening/closing...

I yelled loudest in Troy's run with the footplant rock drop after his rear end washed out in the final tech. Troy, loris, I think Luca were all creative in the side hit scrubbing.. Gwin just had that front wheel grace goin' on.

$150 for shoes that last around or less than a year of periodic weekly use is unacceptable. I ride flats exclusively and have had about every version that 5.10 or even Intense made and they last less and less these days. My freeride pros have been the best fit and function but as other have mentioned they develop large holes when the pins are located. Never seen that before on Impacts or Freeriders. If I pay $150 for a pair of shoes I expect multi year use. I made $330 for a pair of Danner hiking boots, 18 years ago...

Absolutely my thoughts as well. Im right at about that same amount of time and the sole on mine is trashed. Other than that i have no complaints. I just thought these would last a bit longer for the money. Going to try the impact pros next time around.

Actually it is, since motor vehicles are not allowed on mountain bike or hiking trails. So there's that. Bicycle or motorcycle, choose one or one of each. Keep your moped shit off trails you have no right to ride. You know people are pretending to be cyclists on these and not sticking to atv trails.
