When a perfectionist, super elite athlete like Gwin talks about needing to get a better feel for his bike, we have good reason to believe him. He finished 1.5 seconds back from Bruni. We're not talking about a sucky run here. We're talking about the minute difference in pushing too hard and railing a turn and pushing tooo hard and losing traction. Doubtful. He’s on his old rampage bike, probably more comfortable to hit big jumps on than the newer bike and suspension. Fully destickered lowers also

The wheel size debate is a dead horse beaten into mushy glue by this point. The hatred forged by some toward 29ers is likely rooted in experiences from a time when the only options were Gary Fisher hardtails. The market has matured, and frame, wheel, suspension, and tire selection have come a long way. 27.5 and 29-inch bikes are different tools that excel in different ways. I was running a the 650b RC2C on my Yeti SB5c, and have just received an order of the 29er version to replace the Fox 36 on my Trek Slash. The bleed ports are almost redundant because of how easy the fork is to perform a lowers service; they're an absolute joy to work on!! The lowers drop easily, removing the air spring assembly is a matter of breaking 10Nm thread tension with spanner and unscrewing it (not fiddling with some oily, flat circlip in a recess like with competition).
