Enduro used to be seen as the "just like us riding" discipline, athletes riding around on rad trails, socializing, then ripping the downhill. They had bikes like us. Now, to compete, even as an amateur, requires an enduro bike - which after years of marketing/media hype telling everyone they need one, most have discovered enduro bikes are great at very fast and steep trail, and are compromised everywhere else. The enduro courses are now designed to the edge of the enduro bike capability and the pro athlete's capability - near DH tracks. The "riding just like us" connection is broken...

Buried in the lede is the end of collegiate racing as we have always known it(Independent volunteer conference boards), all of this, of course was announced without consulting any of the conferences, in the classic top-down-tone-deaf-fly-your-private-custom-painted-helicopter over CX worlds style that we are coming to expect from the clout hungry billionaire boys club that is now USAC. I'm a little late to this fun discussion, but here is my 2 cents. I have been a Yeti fan and rider since my 1993 steel ProFRO (Man, I wish I had that bike back). They have served me well, some better that others, and my current full suspension bike is a 2019 SB150. I knew the day when I would be outpriced was coming, so I have been kind of prepared. I suppose I could afford a SB160, but I've reached a point in my life where I just don't see the point to continue to pay that kind...

UCI demanding more money than ever while giving less information than ever and possibly cutting riders to 30 which makes paying riders to be on teams more iffy than ever. UCI fucks about and throw's the teams/riders/fans to the sharks for a quick buck leaving us to discovery the finding out part. I strongly suspect this will be my last year of bothering to watch world cups.

6/8/2022 10:55am Stick to what you are already doing. Its honest, enjoyable to watch, and a great perspective. Most other guys that try to tell a story, more often than not, come across super cringy. As others have said, your stuff is about the only content (other than Vital RAW) that I can watch start to finish.

It used to be thin ribbons of singletrack, very rooty, lots of hike a bike and really weaving through thickets of laurels & dense vegetation with black dirt & rock. But less than 10 years ago, IMBA board member from here sold Pisgah brass on sustainable trails using machines, rolling grade dips and tourism dollars (even though the lots were packed and overrun with tourists).
