To have it make sense at the WC level there would need to be more races. However I do like the idea and have thought of it often myself. The reason I like it is that it would encourage athletes to take better care of themselves particularly with head injuries. There is a groundswell towards this but let's face it, if you sit out a round you will be out of the overall. Our midweek enduro series does this as well and it's great for amateur athletes who have other stuff going in their lives.

It makes sense for local beer league where people have other commitments in life, but not for Pros. Consistency maters. What might be more interesting is if there was more money at stake for teams to collect points like the F1 Constructors Standings and cash paid out for better standings. Teams are two men, one women, one jr men, one jr women. Can't have a team like Specialized with just three men.

A back-to-back series of World Cup Downhill concludes with a bike-abuser's favorite venue, Val di Sole, Italy! He seemed not only stoked on the team when he started but he said multiple times he was really looking forward to learning from Loci and Finn. Seems like None of them have much to say about their teammates these days.

I think in his head, Jordan thought his run might have been a podium finish when he crossed the line, lifted the bike above the head and all. It would be sobering to think that's competitive, then watch 17 more dudes beat your time in short order. He's young and has more wins in him, imagine winning your first race, riding that wave then never really been back up there for 18 months. Would be hard mentally. It still baffles me Finn plays No.2 in that team, I mean it's pretty public. He's a big dog now, let him EAT!

The crew from Monster pro dh and trail builders at Mountain Creek knocked this one out of the park. The course was soooooo fun to ride while being deceptively difficult to go fast on. 2 for 2 for the Pro Downhill Series. Clay and crew are doing a bang up job. #usdh

On the EWS "complaint", a top 20 EWS female rider would stomp a fitness mud hole in most people. If an elite athlete has no time for water between climbs, that's not trivial. That is not weakness. And the "season" isn't sneaking up on anybody. Promoter crammed too much of one thing in and not enough of another.
