I'm a pass holder and rode a lot at Killington this year. I was not unhappy at all. In fact they did an amazing job maintaining trails and investing in equipment. Much better then previous years. As far as US open, I don't think they could have had it at Killington regardless, based on the WC schedule. The only weekend would have competed with their fall festival which brings in way too much money to mess with. However, I don't doubt they are hard to work.

Super tight racing at the top. MS1 pretty insane result in 4th. Some of the stages looked savage. Bring back more big silly one day enduro events

Hi MAGURA, I don’t currently own any of your brakes (but in the past have owned HS-22s, MT5 and MT7s,) but just wanted to chime in and let you know that your interaction is amazing and downright shocking to have the CEO jump in to answer questions. This is a very compelling brake system and honestly takes care of all the issues I’ve had in the past- it will certainly be near the top of the list when it comes time for a new set. Any chance you would ever go back to the self aligning old system (it’s been...

Regarding pad face to rotor face clearance of these new brakes, you said it's 50% more than the super tight MT7s, can you comment on if the clearance is even more than the less tight MT5s? (I hate rotor rub and your brakes are the hardest to get rub free in my experience)

Yes, the circumferential channel makes it much easier to catch every air bubble. From our perspective, the Hayes approach is also more and more uncommon. We and our partners are very happy with our current solution. But we’re talking a lot about bleeding the caliper here, even though with our brakes, that often isn’t necessary at all. One advantage of MAGURA when bleeding: We explicitly recommend starting with our Fast Bleeding procedure, using just one syringe at the brake master. In practice, we often find that trapped air bubbles are located in the upper part of the brake system. With...

Caliper alignment. Good news! Thanks for answering

What do you mean with brake rubbing? Two answers: Caliper Alignment: The caliper alignment is much easier because you now have more pad cleareance compared to MT7. The piston retraction is at least 50 % more. And we´ve developed a new smart Piston Alignment Tool to make caliper alignment easier. It e nsures that all caliper pistons are aligned exactly symmetrically. This creates the best conditions for precise and uncomplicated alignment of the brake caliper. Further advantages include more even wear of the brake pads, a defined pressure point, and reduced braking and riding noise. You can find it here...

Will these have less brake rub than mt7s? Loved the mt7s other than the brake rub.

ey, we’ve finally got aluminum brake levers for you guys now 🙄😉 The Shimano brake master would probably move too little oil for our latest calipers and we haven´t tested it. And we won´t. ( We generally strongly advise against such combinations. Neither we nor others can guarantee their safe and reliable function. Such combinations have never undergone any official testing or validation.)

We deliberately use 12 and 19 mm pistons to reduce the pressure level within the brake system. Lower system pressure puts less strain on the system, especially the seals, and also improves the bite point because the hose expands less under pressure. This is also one of the reasons why we don’t use braided steel hoses. With the lower pressure levels of our system — roughly 20–60 bar during most braking applications — the additional benefit of a braided hose is comparatively small. With systems such as Brembo, on the other hand, there is a much stronger case for using...

Mounting new bike tires (especially tubeless and/or heavy duty casing) seems to go one of two ways...it's either a brief, effortless, simple experience or it's an exercise in torture, pain, confusion and mystery. I figured it's time compile the Vital community's decades of expertise into one place with your tips for changing and mounting new tires. Let's here 'em!

It's so frustrating that they aren't interested in opening the bike park again. Lots of new trail networks are popping up in upstate NY so the interest in mtb is there, seems like re-establishing the bike park would be a no brainer

I went to quite a few of the Monster Pro Cups last year as well as quite a few DHSE and DH Rockies races. I THINK that Windrock was the only one that officially charged a mandatory spectator fee to be on the hill. They're also one of the only ones that has enough of a bottleneck for access to the hill that they are able to do so, from what I've seen. They're also already set up with that infrastructure and staffing, because they have people who are verifying the ATV/UTV for operations of the OHV park in the...
