thanks for chiming in, aaron. it's crazy this whole ordeal turned into such chaos and wasted time. i woke up this morning to a billion texts and emails about all the drama. when the vid was posted yesterday, i didn't know it was a "leaked" video. i also chalked it up to "world cup riders are gnarly. they do gnarly things. they break stuff," and figured that the rest of the mtb community had the same reasonable way of thinking. i knew some people may comment on the crank break, but the newsworthiness of the video was that you hurt...

I shoulda been more descriptive and explained things better in that initial comment so that I'm not having to go back and clarify now. I answered a lot of these same accusations in the other responses I made on that same Instagram post but I'll give ya guys the goods too. I was just frustrated honestly. I had just got a message from the guys at Mountain creek who took the video respectfully telling me that they weren't going to send the video around, which was kind of them. shots fired: MIPS is disputing Trek's claims on wavecell, claims it can't replicate the results. https://www.velonews.com/2019/03/news/mips-disputes-wavecel-claims-reit… one important aspect that MIPS gets right (and I agree with in general) is that the "standardized' test methods that are used have plenty of room for improvement. the velo link points out a critical piece of info in that the internal test methods that both MIPS and Trek used likely aren't the same, so any test results won't provide a direct comparison of the results.

at the press launch today i was told that because DVO doesn't have any XC-specific products and had no plans to develop any, that was the main decision behind the switch. the DH/enduro crew was stoked on the DVO stuff and just learned about the switch a week or so ago.

Can we get a poll to see who is the strongest at "_______" or "________?" Like who can do more pushups? Gee or Bruni? Can Loris win an arm wrestling match over Rachel Atherton? I don't know, but it would be rad to put a poll up and have the top two go at it after each world cup round. Winner gets a super valuable VitalMTB sticker.
