Okay, I've given it some thought, and here's the play (if WBD execs are as cynical as I think they are): 1. Kill GCN, thereby eliminating easy subscription/cheap access to cycling-only sports viewership. Blame it on "economic headwinds" or whatever. 2. Force cycling viewers to get an expensive, full meal deal Discovery+Sports membership if they want to view any cycling content at all. 3. Most people won't go for the Discovery+ membership, so cycling will see enormous hits to viewership across all sports and platforms. However, the cycling members who did stay on and sign up for a Discovery+ membership...

I once rode with Matt Walker's mechanic and his dog. Both of them were considerably faster down trails than me. The dog stole my crisps at the pub afterwards.

Last year, on a bike trip to Vermont, while paused at the top of two trails and deciding animatedly amongst us which of the two to ride down, Phil Kmetz popped out from behind a tree like some kinda goddamn gnome and recommended the Blue over the Black, if were to only hit this area once, which we were, and then pointed us to another trail system in the area which ended up being an absolute gem and the highlight of our trip. Later, when we got back to my truck at the end of the ride, a crisp sheet...

Absolutely noone wants to read your political posts, and your name dropping really isn't helping either. Loads of folk in the chat have contacts with high level names in the mtb world but dropping them like you are doing is just weird. We are all here for fun team rumours chat not politics. Take it elsewhere.

Buddy, lots of people on here have done lots of cool stuff, are doing lots of cool stuff, know many amazing people and are also very involved in the bike industry at many different levels or are those people that are racing. They just don't use it to try to boost and make it seems like their comments or opinions matter more than others. If you want to be taken seriously I'd chill and show some respect to all the people you name dropped enough not to use them to try and elevate yourself above someone else.

I think the 5 person podium, while getting two more rides some face time, also allows for the podium to have a bit more action. 5 people spraying champagne looks way more rad than 3. To me that alone should be a reason to keep it, better for the viewers.
