lkubica Added a comment about feature 3 Knee Guards Compared: Fox Enduro Pro, DHaRCO Gravity, and ION Arcon LT
9/12/2025 2:15am From my experience, level 1 pads makes absolutely no sense, the difference in protection between level 1 and 2 is massive at least for pads I was crashing in or seen people crashing.

5/23/2025 6:07am 100% this, if I am riding with a pack I normally take a shock pump with me and check the pressures at the top of the first climb, give things a chance to warm up. In the Alps last year my rear shock pressure would be about 12psi lower in the cold basement of the apartment than at the top of the mountain on a hot day.

4/9/2025 5:22am Kind of, in reality there is no lockout, when "lockout" is on it simply directs the oil through those shims so it's an extra compression shim stack, compression needle assembly seems to cover different ports on the piston so either oil gets through shimstack or bypasses it. In practice there will be always some flow through this stack but it...

3/13/2025 5:43am Thanks I am riding 611 and it's great but stitches are gone on the sides and I wish it were shorter. Original Sagma does not look good to me and seems overly complicated, as I find the 611 perfectly comfortable. So I am looking for a shorter 611 basically. I do not need any elastomers in my 611, pulled them off.

3/13/2025 5:40am I have time on the OG Sagma and Sqlab 611. The Sqlab has been my daily driver for the past couple of years so that is the place where I have the most time. I have a Sagma kicking around that I use from time to time when the spirit moves me. The rocking motion is more pronounced on the Sagma vs the 611, the 611 is a longer saddle (may or may not be something someone likes), the 611 has a shorter stack height so easier to workout as far as overall saddle height with a dropper vs the...

3/5/2025 2:43am I disagree. Just because it's old doesn't make it invalid. And having a data point of a shorter travel may highlight some positives or negatives of long stroking bikes. Some old shocks are definitely better than they're newer models, and potentially the original tune that specialized specd could be very good.

3/5/2025 12:08am I also had a bad luck with previous versions of the SDL. Bought a bike with SDL 2019 and it was simply bad, no matter the spring rate. Bought the NSR racing kit and it was better but much less LSR gave it an uncontrolled feeling but I must admit my best times were on this setup. Older generations od...

2/25/2025 12:27am G2 brakes don’t even belong on xc bikes, I really don’t understand why they don’t spec codes AT LEAST, even tho there’s plenty of better options in the market, 170 cranks on a medium frame are not a shortcoming, the fact that you get the bike and both brakes and dropper need to go in the bin is a huge one tho

1/22/2025 9:45am Honestly for an aluminium ebike the weight is just normal, compare it to Commancal Tempo Power (20kg) and Meta Power SX 400 (22.4kg) this is right in the middle (both in terms of weight and travel). Of course you can buy all carbon lightweight ebike for $12k, but its 2x more money, those thing are not comparable really, no one is cross shopping $5k vs $12k bikes.

Marin is no stranger to the e-MTB market and just a few short years ago in 2021, their affordable, simple, fun Alpine Trail E2 was our favorite e-sled of the year. Not one to upset the apple cart, Marin continues their tradition of making bikes that won't break the bank while remaining enjoyable on the trail with the release of the Rift Zone EL line. The "Rifty" EL series use the lauded Bosch SX drive system with a 400wh CompactTube battery and is offered in three different builds. Prices are $6,999, $5,999 or $4,799, and when Marin reached out about...
