5/13/2025 5:02am I dont weigh much more than you. I prefer to ride a few km/h more to skew the pedal/bike handling ratio toward bike handling always, as well as ride more technical steep climbs. Same workout as with my regular enduro bike but every trail is better

5/1/2025 1:18pm On the nsmb write up about the race motor, Transition demoed a Regulator with the new race motor, which seems like a one-off. But at least we know that Transition is aware of the new motor and has played around with it.

4/9/2025 2:46pm I get the pushback but I promise every single person who frequents vital has hit 28mph on a public trail at some point. In fact, most hit something north of 20 everytime they ride. I know, we are moving the "n" higher here which will increase the likelihood of a problem, but we're also being really really arbitrary about all of this. 20MPH is fast. 28MPH is also fast. Specialized knows what will sell, and having a bike that lets you go faster than your buddies, and honestly have more fun, will in fact sell. No dog in this fight...

4/2/2025 2:30pm So reviewers seem to love the Trek Slash ebike, but this norco is a 4 bar high pivot with a full sized motor and oversized battery- why would anyone ever choose the Trek over this?

3/22/2025 3:12pm this is my bike, XL Range VLT, DH/DD tyres, 720wh battery. Park tool scale errors out at 28kg lol, so had to use some bathroom scales. 31kg
She thicc, but it's pretty much a downhill bike spec and ride quality. Nothing breaks.

2/1/2025 7:43am https://www.vitalmtb.com/forums/hub/belt-drive-and-gearbox-thread There, if you wanna keep blasting new tech while ignoring the obvious shortfalls of old tech
Just a few simple points - Hard to use a belt without a gearbox, and gearbox is probably not the best for the lycra lovers. - Been riding my belt in treacherous mud all fall/winter, and had zero issues, literally zero maintenance..just saying, because some fella somewhere had a bad experience doesn't mean sh!t. - So what a fella broke something. I have a box full of broken derailleurs that had definitely cost me $1000 in the past 3 seasons. Just yesterday...

1/1/2025 10:13am What’s in: less internet vitriol regarding two-wheeled toys. What’s out: enduro casing tires whose sidewalls tear like paper.

12/6/2024 4:46pm BC Bike Race is adding an E version to next year’s event. The regular and E races will run concurrently but won’t interfere with each other. I was somewhat intrigued until I read that you can’t charge your bike at the basecamp, which is the camping situation the racers stay in every night between stages. Also, e-bikes can’t be shuttled...

12/5/2024 8:05am I think most Relay owners have come to the same conclusion--the only time you'll ever pedal an ebike off is when there's an electrical malfunction or the battery runs out (both are worst-case scenarios); otherwise, no one with an ebike really cares how it pedals without assistance. Unassisted pedaling performance should not factor into an ebike purchase at all.

11/24/2024 7:36pm That kind of defeats the purpose of the fun factor. Just ride normal bikes with normal bikes.

11/23/2024 7:58am That’s definitely true, but if half the group is on a Bosch cx, shimano, Rocky, etc. and others are on a fazua or TQ, there’s no equalizing unless the full power motors power down to a brutal snail’s pace while the small motors are still limited on range. Add big body weight differences to the equation (especially if big guys...

11/22/2024 12:42pm I ride zones that have long, steep tech climbs punctuated by road transfers. If one guy has a little battery or a weak motor, the day is totally different than when matching motors and batteries are together.

11/17/2024 7:26am That’s true for the regular Sight and Range. This guy is wondering about the VLT versions.

11/15/2024 10:26am Yeah, it looks just like the next gen Sight coming out next year. Would be strange for Norco to drop the Range in travel from 180/170 to 170/160. I love the big travel of the Range and would be bummed to miss out on it.
