Got no figures to back this up but purely from my memory, Bruni has crashed while being: a) last to drop and b) ahead on split time more than any other racer in history. Thats more of a compliment of how often he actually gets himself into that situation (and that he is so close to the edge of whats possible), rather than a critisism. I don't think he's ever blamed the team, the bike, the components, the mechanic or anyone but himself.

The "only shifts at the ramps" thing is a myth that SRAM isn't going out of their way to correct. There is no sensing of position, torque, or anything else going on -- so it's simply not a real thing. It was just rate limited to make sure us hoons didn't blow up chains too quickly. The existence of Transmission mechanical groupsets is evidence enought that you can bang shifts as fast as you want and things are hunky dorry.

lawlor reporting it's greasy due to rain and a lot of riders not going on track today. FYI, no raw today. only the one from yesterday, but The Weekend follows Gwin, Coulanges and Antoine Pierron, so should be a good one!

From the second hand stories Ive heard they were also one of the major catalysts of the arms race for supplier capacity and over forecasting during the first signs of the covid boom. Bob M went to TW and doubled, then quadrupled forecasts to win priority over other bike brands. Other big brands had no choice but to fall in line if they wanted deliveries in any reasonable amount of time....so most of them increased by similarly staggering numbers. Delivery lead times of multiple years after that were the result. Some of the quotes in this article about that did...

Shout out to Fabien Cousine, Ben Walker (New World Disorder fame) aka @buckoW & all the track builders there & the Morgins tracks. Never forget the walking digger & what these folks REALLY accomplished in that region!!!

YT has been about margins since day 1. 2015 baller carbon capra, $5500 https://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/Bikes,3/YT/Capra-Pro,14533 2015 baller sworks stumpy, $9300 https://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/Bikes,3/Specialized/S-Works-Endu… this isn't perfect apples-to-apples spec, but you get the idea. IIRC, back then it was the only way to get people to consider DTC in the first place.

i feel bad cuz she seemed happier on YT... she's probly looking at switching teams next season and has reduced leverage on 'price' being that she 'needs a team more than any team outright needs her'. Aaron Gwin looking over at her struggling with YT like... First time?

I could be wrong here but aren't the Fox axles semi floating, meaning the hub width tolerance is addressed with this type of design? The forks will align themselves to the axle and not the hub since the NDS side of the hub contacts the axle step rather than the fork dropout. This doesn't address the squareness of the hub...

Some food for thought… let’s assume each leg is a cylindrical joint where it can slide linearly and rotate around the axis of said cylinder. A cylindrical joint on its own is equivalent to four points of contact. Six points of contact fully define the position of something in space. Two cylindrical joints is eight points of contact. Both right side up and upside down forks are technically over constrained and rely on flex and/or bushing clearance to move smoothly. In the world of aligning linear rails with bearing cars, you pretty much always have to float in at least...
