11/6/2025 8:13am Most modern brands are offering size specific chainstays on their trail bikes: Pivot, Yeti, Specialized, Transition, Santa Cruz, Ibis At least on chainstay length, the market says otherwise.

I re-read this post and couldn't understand what you were trying to say. Not to mention your response seems filled with unnecessary vitriol over someone just mentioning a persons name. Judging by your response I can only assume that you're harboring some deep seeded PTSD from him crushing you at the local beer league endubro. Which I do personally feel like that might be worth seeking some help for as it's never good to cary such such a burden mentally. All that besides, I'm glad you feel like Evil's 435 rear center is what you want in a size XL...

11/5/2025 1:17pm Aston and Cahal have their quirks but calling them mediocre riders is complete BS. Both of those guys rip. Also 435 chainstay on a modern XL mtb is a joke IMO. Especially for a frame that costs $4k.

Hey look what I found in the parts bin: This was one of the last things I worked on at RS before I left... goal was to control big hits by weakening or slowing down the return of the air spring. I run my setup with a lot of spring and no damping, so getting bucked on big hits is part of the deal. This thing 'gulps' all the air in the positive chamber on compression and lets it out with a tiny delay (since it all has to go through the tiny hole to get out). No delay on...

I thought it was very brave of Ebruner to be vulnerable and share how many bikes he and his wife have. It can be tough to come clean. We’re all active or recovering bikes addicts here, and this is supposed to be a supportive community for recovery. 5 bikes between wife and I, and yes I agree with every word this guy says. All my rear wheels are 148 boost axles, makes it easy when.... 1. One needs to be trued/serviced 2. Rim cracks at the bikepark 3. Biking trips I just bring an extra ready to go rear wheel I will also likely never own anything superboost, and if I get a DH bike I'll find one that's on 148 (frameworks/forbidden etc.)

Well the bad news is that I don't know what to tell you, and the good news is that I have nothing to prove, nor nothing to gain for convincing you. I have a lot of mountain bikes and so does my wife, 6 between us. Everyone of our bikes has sram brakes with metallic pads, 200mm hs2 rotors and the same sram drivetrains and sram dt350 hubs on every wheelset save one. There are two extra floater wheelsets between all of the bikes. I think it may actually be more important for me to be on the right tires...

I have fought off having superboost rear wheels in my fleet for many years. My wife fell in love with a pivot recently and got herself one. It has ruined the zen status of all wheels/hubs fitting all bikes in my garage. It is as bad, if not worse then the dystopian axle future I imagined that had me avoiding pivot bikes for nearly a decade now. superboost sucks... after having a superboost bike forced on me, I can safely say, I will never own a superboost bike.

Respectfully, it's more accurate to say " Pro tip, your super enduro will absolutely be acceptable for DH trails." No matter how good long travel single crown bikes are these days, there's still no replacement for displacement.
